POST GAME [Round 24, 2021] Sharks vs Broncos

I thought it was harsh at the time, but looking back at the tape, it doesn't look great. It actually looks really crappy, and a blight on the game. Tackling late is a **** act. We all hate it. We all hate seeing the other team get away with it.

Not sure he'll only escape with a fine for this. Look where the ball is when he makes contact. He had time to pull out. A week out licking his wounds won't do him any harm.

Yeah I’m not saying it was good but a penalty was enough. Plus, again the lack of consistency, our halves were getting put on their butt three minutes after kicking regularly albeit not as hard and this happens 9 times out of 10 every time a bomb goes up.

Additionally, Peeks was committed and couldn’t see the ball had already been passed because the Cronulla player’s back blocked the view and Peeks had already committed.

At the end of the day though, it had no impact on the result really or the season as it is gone, so the key is that Peeks learns to be careful doing that in the future because media.

I thought Oates was slightly in front of where he should have been. It's tough to pass quickly when flat chat, so Oates just needed to give himself a bit more time to help out Herbie. In saying that, the pass missed Oates by a fair way, so that's on Herbie.
As long as he is behind Herbie, it's 100% on Herbie to land the pass. He missed him by over a metre.

The big issue now for Piakura is he's going to be targeted by the nrl for the rest of his career for any hint of foul play he might commit. Much like TPJ and Radley who have reputations for hitting hard i suspect Piakura will carry a similar tag.

The commentators during the game even made the point of mentioning he's known for big hits. Even worse is the late hit on playmakers is Joey Johns absolute pet hate so you can ensure Piakura will now be Joeys number one enemy.

Except if the playmaker is a Bronco. He was positively raging that Radley got cited for almost breaking Kelly's leg with the old "he was only trying to charge the ball down what else is he supposed to do" chestnut. Eight immortal more like 8th immoral! He was called Goey Joey for a reason.

4 weeks for Flegler vs a fine for Ramien 🤷‍♂️
This administration IS A FUCKING JOKE. This is up there with the Roberts dog shot on a prone oates for mine. Both pissweak punishments for disgusting acts. I'm guessing none of the NRLs administration have their kids play rugby league. Which of those high shots would you be running onto the field for?! I know which one had more malicious intent that's for sure. Our players should start taking dives, I'm over it.

I love the way Flegler plays - heart, passion, fire, aggression, looking to destroy the opposition. Very Radley-Esque. Unfortunately now both of them are completely useless and total liabilities in today’s version of the game. Such a shame, but Flegler is going to need to cut that side of his game out completely if he wants to survive. 10 years ago he would have been such a punishing enforcer who was a joy to watch.

Flegler’s sin bin was absolute rubbish (same as Piakura’s and same as Turpin’s ‘crusher’)… how many times can we say the same thing week after week. Hitting a player hard is now a binnable offence. (When the refs feel like it). As much as I hate the chooks, I loved that Robinson came out and gave them a well deserved spray.. although unfortunately the only change likely to come is that anyone who makes ANY forceful contact with a roosters player the entire finals series will get binned.

Haas again immense and Cobbo had a nice game… seems to be gaining confidence and at this rate I think it’s better for the team to be developing him at 1 from next year. We need a gun fullback and there’s none available .. if we believe this kid is the goods then let’s get him in there.

Milford showed some real effort tonight which absolutely floored me… chasing his kicks, wanting his hands on the ball and at one point even running across to bundle a player into touch in defence. If he keeps that up next year he might actually do some good for South’s. Shame he couldn’t do it here.

On a side note, we finally saw Farnworth throw a pass tonight and instantly found out why he pregers

There was a tackle by Cleary late in the panthers tigers game late and high just a penalty be interesting to see if he cops a ban

I’ve looked into my crystal ball and it’s come up with a resounding no.

Cleary would need to commit murder before the NRL would consider fining him. Would maybe get a week for genocide. Can’t be sure though.

I believe he was playing at the ball and he put a lot of venom into it. It is no coat hanger.

It's identical to the hit he put on the Roosters player which decided the game

He comes across with plenty of force looking to access the ball but he makes contact with the lower part of the face, he could be a really good forward but not until he sorts out the basic errors like that one

what's that phrase?

don't hate the player, hate the game

The guy he tackled will get suspended for attacking the chin of Cleary

Piakura's sin bin was the NRL flexing their muscle against a team playing for nothing on a player making his debut

That's always been a penalty at worse, he's tackled him in the ribs ffs.. if you want to dig into the line you should probably be ready to get one
