1.3m? Lmao

He had a blinder on the weekend but he isn’t worth nearly that much. And if the Storm can’t pay more than 750k and he won’t play for Brisbane why would the Dolphins pay that amount?

Anyway talking of swaps my dream swap would be Flegler for a homesick Walsh

They wont pay Munster 1.3 million i dont think, but it wont be far off that i wouldnt think. Walsh is another i think is going to end up at the Phins. I'm more than happy they missed out on Ponga.

Can any one really see any other world where he doesn't end up at the Dolphins?

Think they absolutely have to land munster. And with the storm unwilling and unable to offer him his perceived value it seems a no brainer for Munster as well. It Will take some miracle from storm(shady deal) or a monumental **** up from redclif........ I mean "THE" to not land him.

Genuinely interested to know, If you were in Munsters shoes, what would you do? Stay with Storm and compete for premierships or go to a new club and possibly struggle for a few years and never see a GF again…

He's already done it all. I'd definitely go to the new club for more money and establish a legacy as being a main main in 2 different teams for a premiership

$1.3 million is just silly money
Why would they need to pay $1.3m anyway... if Munster wants to come to qld, but doesn't want to go to the broncos then they're hoping Dolphins are as stupid as Titans and negotiating against themselves

Depends how much private shares are worth in a betting company I guess.

Nashy's gonna need more donations to run the servers to offset the meltdown that's going to happen if Walsh/Munster sign for the Phins.

IF this happens will be amazing.

Maybe we use Reno to bait him across, the Melbourne connection of Dave Donaghy, KW with his QLD inspirations.

I doubt it but one can hope
It’s clearly bullshit, she’s pulled it straight from nrl 360 yesterday when Read was speculating about why Brisbane haven’t gone after him. The fact she doesn’t even reference Mam, who is earmarked by the club to be the long term 6, shows she hasn’t even asked anyone at the club.

I really hope we make it known we are interested in Munster to push Redcliffe's price up as much as possible because if we push it high enough, they won't be able to compete with us for Walsh given they have to fill out a squad.

Newcastle - Ponga
Redcliffe - Munster
Broncos - Walsh

I could certainly live with that.

We still need to get this cap evened out a bit more. We are still kind of out of whack. Not enough budget players and too many big earners in the wrong positions. Its why we cant afford to sign Herbie in all reality. For example, I'm not sure we can carry over a million in our cap for 2 centers, which is what we will be doing. Sadly, as good as Payne is, he isnt a match winner and we could probably get 2 props who will even out the workload for what we are paying him. Somethings got to give here and we are going to have to lose a few players we would like to keep.
I'd rather keep Hass and look at the pack around him. We do have a good strike rate when it comes to developing forwards who can play their role well over the years though. Glenn, Parker, McGuire, Gillett and even guys like Webkce, Carroll, Carlaw, Civoniceva, Thorn and even Thaiday.
Carrigan is probably close to joining that group and Hetherington wouldn't be too far off either for mine. We could trust the system to develop another Carrigan, but it's highly unlikely to deliver another Hass.

I wouldn't say Hass isn't a matchwinner though. He won't kick a field goal or throw a cutout pass. But there's other ways to do it. Hass is younger than, and hasn't won a premiership like Taumololo had when he signed his deal.

Wasn't there a game where he made a try saving tackle late and it ended up saving it? He's also embarrassed whoever's been our fullback at least once by tracking the opposition Fullback. We also hardly ever let him drift wide and run at an edge when he is renown for post contact metres. If forwards have trouble stopping him, what hope would a tiring half have late in the game after he's had a break?

I hear ya, but give me 10 less metres post contact, and give me a quick play the ball.

I really hope we go the other way and make it clear we will not chase Munster to **** him over. He's always been utterly disrespectful to us

You wont find another Haas, but you could find others at a cheaper price who would still be good. We dont need a million dollar prop, but i'd say we need a top level spine player. They are just more important than props are.

You are right, he has made some try savers, but losing him to make the team better wouldnt be detrimental.

I don’t disagree with the sentiment but it’s business, other clubs have done it to us plenty, we need to do it back.

I think we still have options at 5/8. Moylan or Nikorima if we want a sideman type player for Reynolds with experience. If we really wanted to take a big risk, Will Pryce would probably be the one to look at there. Honestly though, I don't know why they ruled out Staggs so quickly. I remember seeing him at halfback for Tonga against Samoa once, and he seemed to handle it fine. They won it easily. And that team was pretty much built off its forward pack like ours is.

I do ultimately get it, but it would be hard to watch him play against us. Especially knowing he gives us his all.

Could do the Lockyer test and put him under some high bombs at fullback and see if he can catch them....Oates used to be a forward too.
