Bloke posted the rule herbie supposedly broke.....

"If the player marking the tackled player at the play-the-ball dives behind the tackled player in order to drop on the ball as it is heeled, he is guilty of a voluntary tackle and should be penalised. If there is no acting half back it is permissible for a player to dive behind the tackled player and drop on the ball after it has been heeled provided that, unless tackled, he immediately regains his feet"

Ummmm.... if souffs won tonight, it'd be 95% due to Atkins, some shocking decisions that all went souffs way
But sir, the ball also wasn’t heeled…

Needless to say, that of course being the first rule broken, won’t be enforced…

Only technical rule breaches that negatively effect the Broncs, will be enforced…

What I dont fully understand in this game, is when the attacking team plays the ball and walks 1-3 metres off the mark - why don't our markers just stand their spot.

Time and time again we gently walk back the 1-3 metres with them. Stand your ground and make the ref tell them to go back to the mark?

Selective application of the rules to help the favoured team as per standard NRL operating protocols.
the refs couldn’t penalize our guts and brilliance.

We'd probably get penalised for crowding the ruck

A good team performance
Side is starting to come together now and not rely on just one player anymore
The Kev is under major pressure as coach camp has been seriously shut up the past fortnight
The more games that spine plays together the more better we will get
Kevvie ditching Turpin and Niu and finding something resembling a real hooker and fullback. Putting Carrigan into the front row where he belongs and gaining a few key signings to build up our quality and a more astute use of his bench, has gone a long way towards us winning.

Exactly what most of his detractors have been calling for, tbh… He now needs to work on fixing up our error rate and continuing to improve our spectacularly improved defence (lately) and he will be well on his way to being a successful coach.

Also, sort of did show that we can win without Haas. Haas needs to add more to his game for the price tag he wants. Sure makes very few mistakes and has a good engine but he needs to offer more in attack. Doesn’t really offload or get many quick play the balls and doesn’t break tackles like a Fifita.
He needs to add more in defence! The guy is a pillow. He just catches and holds instead of leans in and up with driving knees and hips to put in some actual starch. I'm often very critical of his passive hits

For me, it's just good to see the lads smiling again. As much as I hate saying it, as we were getting psychologically ruined in 2019 and onwards, the Panthers were getting all the calls and confidence from that had them beaming, and sure enough, a couple of years later they have a GF win and look like world-beaters. Next season will be very promising, and if not 2023, 2024 will be a GF appearance.

I thought we reaped the rewards of the hard work done earlier in the year. A lot on here were very vocal with their condemnation when we lost in round 3, 4 etc but I thought there were large parts of those games where we were top 4 material. We weren't far off and now we are putting together bigger chunks of top4 play.

Some good games tonight and some top games from a few. Jensen was solid, Carrigan good, Oates, Cobbo, Robati, Reynolds all top shelf. Hetherington was immense with good contributions from Walters and Paix and really good, mature forward play from Flegler. Very pleasing that is to be honest. Bit parts from Palasia and Kennedy were an acceptable standard. TMM was okay but needs some improvement. Staggs and Farny were good too. Hard to find any poor efforts. RK was deadset unlucky with that penalty, he clearly wasn't trying to elbow anyone.

Really happy chappy tonight. Well done KW and his coaching team.

That penalty against your boy was an absolute disgrace. I wouldn’t mind it if it was regularly enforced but it isn’t and those sorts of decisions went against us the whole game. It was really frustrating.

Remember Haas' efforts have been amazing, and he is often seen running back in the 78th minute in cover. And he is only 22. He has many, many years to add those strings to his bow, and at least a couple more of those years he is signed to us, I wouldn't be declaring that he's hit his ceiling yet.

Yeah, a lot of front rowers don't develop a passing game until later on in their career.

Some do it straight off the bat, but for some it takes them a fair few years to add more strings to their bow.

How about the penalty against ? Billy ? where the guy just kept marching forward and Billy got pinged for holding the ball. The guy was still driving into the tackle! So sick of that tactic earning penalties. Two feet, set, before any six again or penalty can be blown. Pushing and gaining meters while being called held should be a "Back to your mark!" not a fucking penalty or six again.

To be fair, just after the Herbie penalty, Palasia (I think) should have been penalised for pulling the ball-player backwards as a ruck infringement. Right in front of the ref too. I think that was a bit of a gimme after the Herbie gaff (not that it makes it right).

What the hell is going on?

We had the ref against us in an away game, our ball control was pretty bad tbh, we had hardly any possession....

And we doubled last year's grand finalists.

What the actual hell is going on?!?!?!

- we've cut the dead weight
- our stars are realising potential
- we are playing as a team
- Reyno is providing direction

It's not that we are winning, but it's the way we are winning.

Damn, it feels good to be a Bronco.

We've been saying for literally years we lacked a good spine.

Inject good talent into the #7 and this is the difference between last season and this one. That and a truck load of belief and finally some confidence.
