OFFICIAL Broncos winning the 2022 Comp

I like what Niu brings offensively but man, TMM’s scramble and desperation to get there in defense has been a breath of fresh air. No wonder we suddenly look like we have a clue against the ball.
You been eating your 'generous flakes' for breakfast this morning? Some of the efforts in Niu's defence this year have been appalling. I'd go as far as to say some of the poorer instances were Boyd like. Tesi has shown in the heat of the moment he is very averse to taking or making the contact required to wrap a player up who was threatening our line.

He's still young and there is plenty of time for him to improve in this area but if we simply ignore this obvious weakness we're setting Tesi and the club up for failure.

I can't see where sprojy was actually giving NIU credit for defence. I think he was more giving Niu some credit in attack.

As @GKDonkey said, I’m not giving any credit to Niu for his defense, it’s appalling.

According to Slothfield we have two of the top 10 buys of the season (but not number 1) ... and one of the worst buys if the season.

Best

1 Chad Townsend
2 Adam Reynolds
3 Nicho Hynes
4 Xavier Coates
5 Dale Finucane
6 Te Maire Martin
7 Matt Burton
8 Adam Elliott
9 Jackson Hastings
10 Sean O’Sullivan

Worst

1 Adam Clune
2 Brent Naden
3 Oliver Gildart
4 Jamayne Isaako
5 Connor Watson
6 Ryan James
7 Paul Vaughan
8 Tyrone Peachey
9 Matt Dufty
10 Isaac Liu

Just looking at James, if you only consider his on field performances, I absolutely agree. But I think he offers us plenty off the field (and at training), so in that regard I don't consider him a bad buy necessarily given his small contract

If our worst buy is a minimum wage contract, I'd call that a good season of recruitment.

Although I feel Brenko has to be in the worst buy coloumn.

The 2022 Premiership captain getting heaps of praise.

Matty Johns on Reynolds

“Adam Reynolds would have taken a lot of satisfaction out of that tonight,” Johns said.

“Geez he is playing good football. Two try assists, one try.

“I reckon the last 18 months he is playing different. He had the reputation of being a steady halfback.

“But we have seen the last 18 months him playing with a lot more imagination and his playmaking is top drawer.

“No matter what he would have gone on to do at South Sydney, he wouldn’t have made his legacy any better.

“No one will forget what he did at Souths, but now he is building a new legacy at the Broncos.”

“What you see a lot of times with struggling sides and we saw it with Brisbane last year, they have good stretches and they were good in patches and then something would go wrong and they just couldn’t hit the breaks,” Johns said.

“They couldn’t stabilise the result, but when you have got a bloke who can steer the side around the park and control the tempo of the game with his kicking, you can go through flat spots in the game or periods when you haven’t got a lot of football and just not bleed points.”

Gordon Tallis on Reynolds

“He was outstanding at Souths and the fingerprints that he left at that club will last forever, but he has gone to Brisbane and I think it was the challenge that he needed,” Tallis said.

“He has a really young naturally and super talented side that needed a bit of direction.

“I think that was the challenge that he needed at this point of his career.

“You don’t like seeing a guy going through a contract dispute and not playing at the club that he loves, but Brisbane are really loving him there at the moment.

“He was outstanding tonight. His kicking game was first class and he’s given them direction.”

Bryan Fletcher on Reynolds

“The fact that he was at Souths and he had a lot of senior players around him,” Fletcher said.

“He is up here now with all of these young kids. His leadership has been great.

“He is a terrific player, but I think his leadership skills have gone up another level.”

I don't know if we're winning the comp or anything like that but if we beat Manly, you would expect us to string a few more together with who we are playing afterwards .. and if that happens, it's going to be hard for us to not make the 8

It's so bad it makes it almost iconic... it's bloody shocking haha. It's massive aswell btw, about 4 metres hight from memory

This was actually commissioned by the club's sponsor Ergon Energy at the time and local "artist" Jason Jackson did it.

It took him a month to do it.

It looks like Ergon Energy just went up to some random guy on the street and said, "Here's a tenner, paint a mural".

And how is million dollar Pangai not on there.... bloke has done zero to change their fortunes to date.

He's racking up some offload stats but it's not translating to wins

I’m sure that is not the original. It looks to have been doctored to make it look better.😂
You're kidding. How can anything be worse than that? If I was the original "artist" I would sue for defacing the original masterpiece.

Compare it to the South Sydney or the Roosters mural paintings. My god. The NRL should have stepped in for bringing the game into disrepute.

Why are people calling this a premiership winning captains mural? Gene Miles and Wally were both gone when we won our first - Tallis never captained a premiership either....
Wasn't he captain in 2000? I was young so don't remember
