OFFICIAL Te Maire Martin Signs Three Year Deal with the Warriors

Mmm, the 'difference' rests entirely upon the writers perspective. McHunt put me on 'his' banned list, his personal list which probably is located on a mental notebook of sorts. The action he took was 'blocking'. Stupid person, I'm aware there's many ways to view a thing, why aren't you?
Man, you’ll argue anything..

Like many on here I was very circumspect about Billy joining us. However, his form even in our trials made me think well maybe he can do a job for us as our dummy half spot is not exactly a strong point of our spine. Over the season both Billy and Paix have developed their role in the team. So much so that I recall a month or so ago commenting that Billy fully deserved his spot in the team on merit and if he was to somehow increase his speed off the mark by an extra half a metre or so he'd be more than serviceable. Some of his little chips into the in-goal have come exactly when we needed it and those little plays should not be overlooked.

Billy is used on the run onside because his defence (in tandem) with Paddy is able to draw the initial sting of the opposition thus allowing Paix to come on and exploit a tiring opposition. Aside from the odd needless penalty Billy gives away his game suits exactly what we need. His mongrel and willingness to do anything for the team is an asset that any team would welcome.

The reason we are potentially losing TMM has nothing at all to do with Billy being in the team. TMM has stated he hopes to make a bit of coin to allow him to purchase some land back home so that he can farm and hunt after footy. To suggest Billy is somehow pushing TMM out of the team is just plain stupid. If anything it's Walsh's pending inclusion that threatens TMM's spot, and as many others have rightly pointed out he is more a natural 6 and we have that position more than covered.

I'm sure Billy and Kevvie understand that when Parker and Mozer begin to knock on the door of first grade that it will be time for Billy to move on. Until then I'm more than happy to give him my full support as a Broncos fan.
Perfectly said. Nobody talks about those little kicks that he has provided this year that are often very well weighted. Plus he jumped in at HB after Reynolds did his ribs and got us home against the raiders. I think he's a fine member and could even deserve an upgrade. Give him turpins money

No-one should think it's fair to judge Mozer on a single rep game where his team was completely monstered and played off the back foot from the first 5 minutes. Even Cam Smith struggled in that situation. The kid has a lot of class, talent and brains...all of which should take him far in his footy career.

Billy is a bit like Tyson for mine...not the most naturally talented but leaves NOTHING on the field. Whole-hearted, a bit of mongrel, the perfect team player. Give me a $200k (?) Billy over a $1.2M Fifita any day of the fucking week. I know who's more important to the team.

On the topic of hookers...which better hookers are around throughout the entire comp, to replace Billy - and at what cost? I think we are getting brilliant value for money from him tbh and the 1-2 between him and Paix is really working for us as a team.

EDIT - oh and on TMM, be sad to see him go. He's been great for us, and a real feel-good story. I'd love him to stay, but respect that NZ is his home. Best of luck to the bloke, no hard feelings at all.

Comment is that we're starting to lose players worth keeping. There's only one player we need to upgrade. He happens to be the coach's son. Is this going to become a conflict of interest? I don't know. Maybe. The rest is too tedious to bother re-iterating. Apparently I'm a secret agent with a nefarious agenda for even asking. I'm probably Russian or something.

Have to rush, I need to slip into a phonebox and change into Peter Badel.
Interesting idea that we are “losing” TMM. The same TMM we don’t have beyond this season anyway… Lol.

Walters isn’t being ‘upgraded’ either, his contract with us expires at the end of this season. He is being signed on a new contract for 2023 and maybe beyond. Do you feel he has played well enough to deserve that?

I do.

Yep, on top of which Walters is 28 so at best he will have maybe 4 years left in the game.

Make hay while the sun shines lad.

I think you need players like Billy Walters in your spine. Not every spine player can be top 5, close to a million players. Your cap can't take it. I see Billy as a Dylan Edwards style spine player, your getting above output for dollars spent. Billy loves this club and as long as we pay him right he will not eat into your cap and as long as his performances remain at current standard I would keep him for as long as is reasonable. Also he is the right age to be about ready to head to to England for a pay rise as our younger guys are ready to step up. Hooker is one of our spine spots I am least concerned about long term.

Mozer is 183cm Smith is 185cm

Wow !
If you had asked me to guess C Smith`s height I would have said 5 10 / 175 cm .

Still a lot thicker body type than Mozer . But ,, I have only seen pix on Broncos media and that U/ 18 Origin .

The way people talk about him I thought I was gonna see a clinic . Underwhelmed in the end .

I did qualify my observations with " small sample size " .
But whatever he has got going on he wasn`t showing it off that night .
