From what I can tell, we did something dodgy with the Leagues Club and Andrew Gee pretty much took a bullet for the club. I had him on my favourites list.

Yep, jumped on the grenade and refused to talk even though almost all media sources were dragging the club through the mud before going after him personally.

He just kept his mouth shut and walked off into the sunset.

Well-we know that $298k was made available to Gee from the Leagues Club- without board approval, documentation or members knowledge.

There was no evidence that it was used by the football club, and it was repaid by someone, and Gee quit meaning he doesn't have to talk to anyone.

Gee was a director of the LC and on staff signing players at the football club.

I would say it's in his personal interest to never say why his work gave him $298k and then put it back when he quit.

The Gene Snitsky of Broncos players.

It was a really an unfortunate situation for Beale. He was just doing his job but unfortunately when you injure a club legend and deny them the opportunity to go out on their own accord there's always going to be some backlash, fair or not.

Also probably one of the most over-hyped juniors in Broncos history. The media talked him up like he was the next Karmichael Hunt, fans (and coaches) ate it up and while injuries plagued him he wasn't at that level.
