BHQ Countdown: Most Loved/Least Liked Players Reveal thread

I don’t think you can compare Origin Wally to Broncos Wally though. He was a different breast come Origin time.
Sorry, had something else on my mind…

Thought it'd be Devere ... used to love him. Not the most naturally gifted player around, but made the most of what he had, and his attitude and work ethic got him the rest of the way.

Joe O is a bit of a surprise. Could never really hate him.

Got nothing against Joe O, was disappointed to see him go.

Big fan of Mick De Vere. One of the best defensive centres you'll ever see, and an incredible goal-kicker too - we really missed his goal-kicking when he left. Tough as nails, as well.

De Vere is definitely our most likeable southerner, for a while he was our only one and typically that made him a rep player, very quiet player but his contribution was definitely noticeable.

Always had a soft spot for De Vere. Just one of those players who did their job and could turn it on when he had to. Everyone remembers the chip and chase against Newcastle but it was a try right on half-time against Melbourne that stuck out to me.

I don't think Webcke got that play the ball away ahead of the siren, but that was De Vere to a tee. Put in an honest chase, wore one across the chops, scores the try and kicks the goal.

No wonder I had deja vu in 2008, that bounce from Locky. Matt Orford laid on a fantastic kick for Hill moments earlier and Lockyer replied in kind.

That was the first ever win I attended at Suncorp.

Another highest vote from my list! Good to see a lot of love in here for Mick already. I think he has one of the best origin stories of a Bronco ever, though - just shows it never hurts to take your chance, no matter if it's a long shot.
