BHQ Countdown: Most Loved/Least Liked Players Reveal thread

Jack Reed was criminally underrated, absolute gun on that left side. Fifita, well, could have been a Broncos all time but will go down as just one of many Fifitas to play the game having stayed at a mediocre side to play comfortable footy.

Jack Reed's red hair always worried me, but to his credit.......
he rose above such a crushing disadvantage. 👍

woooooohooooooooo. Go jack reed! Big fan!

Also if memory serves me correctly he scores a try off his first touch in nrl via a pass from the one and only Darren Lockyer. Blessed from day one.

I have never seen this moment again since it happened live but wasn't Jack Reed the one who fucked up the most for the Kyle Feldt try in 2015?

Watched it again for you. Ugh.

Blair misses Thurston. Macca gets pushed off Thurston, Thaiday doesn't have the legs to get to him. Parker finally takes him down as he passes out to Morgan, who did almost exactly what Reece was doing on Friday night. Skipped to the outside of Milf, drew Reed in leaving Oates with a 2 on 1. Boyd was out the back coming across, but not fast enough. Milf didn't look like he was going to get to him so Reed had no choice but to jam in. But Reed was in two minds, Milf was just getting to Morgan so Reed kind of backed off, Morgan and Milf went past and he sort of tried to get in the way of a pass...but the play had gone past him and he was in no man's land. Cowboys centre ran an unders line back towards the post, meanwhile Morgan is still pulling through the Milford tackle and Boyd wasn't there yet - since Reed got himself caught out, Oates came in on Morgan and the rest is history.

It was pretty ugly all round, but every single player was out on their feet by that stage so it's hard to blame anyone in particular. The only reason they had the ball in that position in the first place was Milf had made a break up the middle of the field, got the ball off to Hunt who had it stripped by Feldt on halfway with exactly 1 minute remaining. If we hold possession and get to our kick, they would have had another 50m to run and 10 seconds less to do it, so just probably don't get there.

Reed did get caught and in hindsight should have belted Morgan - he committed to the tackle but then didn't make it and let them pass by, and watched the pass to Feldt from behind. But - if Boyd was quicker in cover, or Milf was a bit quicker laterally then Oates wouldn't have needed to jam in and had Feldt covered from 10m out. Or if Blair or Macca had've belted Thurston, it was the 5th tackle so that's the game. So many if's, but's, maybe's and a real sliding doors moment IMO for so many careers - particularly the Broncos' young side.

Feldt knocked it forward out of Milford's hands.

Happened right infront of me, as soon as the referee allowed play on I had awful deja vu.

So if we had captains challenges back then, we win the grand final?

They didn't stop the play after Hunt lost the ball.

Even under the old rules, since they wear the wrong jersey they would have ended up in the bin for forcing a stoppage.

Poor Turps.

I remember Annesley backed that call and reiterated you couldn't challenge it. Then in that ensuing round, the Titans were holding down on numerous occassions to get their challenges through.

In context though, IIRC, Reed's shoulders were completely fucked by that point which was why Oates thought he needed to come in.
