Seems harsh on Lowrie to be this high up in the hated list.

Was here on the cheap and barely played... not like he came here as a star signing, was always just cheap depth.

Recall he had a couple good games when we were down on troops as well.

Yeah I never minded him. Just the nature of the list, two votes in the top five is enough to get this high up.

As for Tate, I feel like he went much better when he left us. He was amazing for Queensland. But I remember way too many games between 03-06 where he played horribly and just never passed.

I recall wanting to get a shirt printed with ‘Hate the Tate’ on it towards the end of his time at the Broncos. Was bearable in Origin, but frustrated the hell out of me in club games. Lowrie? Meh. Not fussed either way.

Lowrie was touted as a big signing from memory and he basically was symptomatic of the era. The Broncos wereo n a downward trend and had too many hacks overpaid to do very little.

My love for Tate probably come from more origin moments then club games. But respected him more from how he came back from so many injuries.

I'll always remember that Australian game where Tate scored after the siren, such a good try. Tate was a bit like Reed in being underrated but not as underrated as Reed was. I was gutted when Tate announced he was heading to the Cows.

He was also very good at knocking it on. I remember for the first half of 06 I would cringe everytime he was passed the ball.

Man, I love Tate.

I didn't know what to make of him for the longest time other than he needed a restraining order against Francis Meli. Then he started producing plays like GC posted and I came around. He wasn't the most talented or athletic backs in the competition. He could make some of the most puzzling mistakes imaginable, but then he could go 90m and score one of the greatest ever Test tries.

The thing I admired the most was that in the big games, in the big moments, you could count on him.

Just like at the 2006 Grand Final try-scorers list.

Yes he could go to dummy half and put his foot on the sideline...

Or he could burn Brett Stewart in his comeback game at Brookevale.

It made being a fan exciting because you knew you were going to cop it, only to give it right back.

Although it hurts that Sproj brought up that 06 Tri-Series try again.

I'd never left a game early before, but it'd been virtually over at half-time and there were blues happening all around the stadium. Despite my best attempts to keep the group around because I could sense something amazing was about to happen, they'd heard it enough times that nothing was going to happen.

We were making our way to the bus depot when we heard the crowd go up as the full-time siren sounded. Gee, they must have been happy for that game to be over as well.

I've never been able to live it down since. Time to load up that 2006 GF try to ease the pain.

Lawrie was always a nuffie. Another player the Storm got good value out of. We picked him up after he had a stint at the Warriors, I don't remember any hype about him. He was on the outs in his last year, I'm sure. Saw him sitting in the crowd at a Broncos game, which was weird.
