even if you're correct , and i'm not sure you are ... don't start even trying to compare Lockyer to Sailor.

that's like comparing the local under 15 side with the Australian Kangaroos
fair call. wasnt meant as direct comparison

I've been calling it for a while. I believe Patty is our Flegler replacement if we can sign someone like Frizell/Su'a and move Capewell to lock. I only saw bits and pieces of the game as I was working, but it doesn't surprise me he played well in the middle.
I know you are big on Capes to lock and surprisingly he ran better than o expected in the middle. However defensively he just doesn’t hit hard enough at all, not that I had any expectation to be disappointed but without a doubt it caught my attention big time. I don’t think Piakura was dreadful but he definitely highlighted why Capewell has and still is so integral to our side. Patty is an incredible lock, going to be a lot easier to find people to replace Flegler than replacing both lock and second row to the standard we have become accustomed to.

Palasia certainly ran hard, but is still a bit of a pillow in defence

I find it hard to rate players in games like this. On the one hand, i dont think anyone was really good and stood out in the game, but on the other, they competed and gave everything and toughed out a really good win. Cant fault any of them.
Jensen was good. Really stood up in the absence of more accomplished middle forwards.

Should be a regular starter with Haas. Flegler can give us energy when he comes on. He is leaving next year anyway...

Jesus, he's played 5 career games and all of a sudden he's going to be our next HB. If only rugby league was that easy. He's a natural FB who will be hoping for a regular first grade berth in the future. Unfortunately, that won't occur at Red Hill.
as opposed to a handful of 17 years old coning through i reckon he has sime skills

agree. just watching again Sailor was immense. most of that goal line defence was on him. he is akeeper
That hand under the ball should be on highlight reels for all time on how to defend your line and never give up. Brilliant piece of magic from Sailor Jr.

I am stoked with the win under the circumstances and the Warriors played well (especially DWZ who was best on field for mine, followed closely by Reynolds).

Riki is a gun through and through and will only get better.
Jensen had a massive game.
Kobe had a massive game.
Capewell was solid.

And despite a few errors i still love watching Staggs play.
A very important 2 points in the origin window, very happy with the outcome.

I wont shit on the ref/bunker this week, as i feel i dont need to because they do such a good job of looking like clowns that i would just be speaking what everyone already see's and knows.
(why go to the bunker when the touchie who is right there lifts his flag).

i reckon we view the game similar...but seriously DWZ...do you have a hair fettish? he is average at best

Mate he had a cracker of a game last night.
I dont really pay too much attention to players hairstyles haha. ( Patty's glorious locks the exception).
Just my opinion, but i reckon he was the best out there.
For what its worth DWZ scored a double, could have had five tries in the bag if they were not denied a few and had cracking defense all night.
I also thought Staggs played well despite a lot of people saying he was shit.

Random thought during game:

Is this game the first time in Broncos’ history we have had 2 sons of former players in our team? I can’t think of any other matches this has happened.

I'll just leave this here.

Most supercoach points - DWZ
Most runs - DWZ
2nd most Post Contact Meters - DWZ
3rd most run meters - DWZ

3 line breaks, 6 tackle busts, 2 tries (plus 2 disallowed)

Was solid under the high ball, was solid in defense, was dangerous with almost every run.

I dont know who got it, but i would be very surprised if he didnt get MotM in a losing side last night.

I don't think the last 10 minutes is something people should focus on.

If we weren't missing 6 of our starting 13, what happens doesn't happen. We don't win by 4, we put 40 on them. We had them on the ropes and if we were full strength, we don't let them back into the contest.

On the call by Cummins to check the DWZ no try in the first half after the touch judge said he was out, I thought that was strange.

I was under the impression that when a touch judge says a player is in touch, even touch in-goal, the ref had to accept that decision.

1685223355896

That's not what happens, though. Cummins decides to send it to the bunker which denies us a quick tap.

The interpretation could be different and Cummins could still send it to the bunker. It very rarely happens so there aren't past incidents that I can recall to go on.
