We all said the same thing about Jordan Riki when he was this age. In kevs defence he has a squad of 30 players to develop and there are a few that are going to be the future. He needs to bring them in at some point and give them some nrl exposure.

I'm not as down on it as others to be honest, dependent on why of course. And the why could make me down on it too but if Kevvie is going to start rotating some of his forwards to freshen up / have them ready for the back end of the year, I don't hate it at all. In fact, I want to see Kevvie doing this and I would have preferred if it were one of the origin guys but so be it. I do want to see Willison and Piaks getting some game time and if this is the only way to do that, so be it. Jensen will definitely be in the side when the whips are cracking at the pointy end of the season.
Yeah I'm wondering if it's a bit of rotating the middle forwards.

Kobe had the start of the year off due to injury... so Jensen and Taupau have played every game so far and we've had no byes to date.

We also need to have the depth guys getting some reps in so if they are needed they have already had a taste of NRL for the year.

The apology reeks of a legal backdown.
I keep pointing out that calling officials corrupt and cheats is accusing them of a crime. It's not a trivial accusation you can throw around blithely when you've torn a hole in your panties. Fans are expected to act like prats when their team loses. It comes with the territory. But CEO's of clubs need to be adults, not sooks.

If they have evidence of corruption, provide it to the police. Incorrect decisions aren't evidence. They're evidence it's a difficult job, even for the best in their field.

Reminder: making snarky comments about referees is cowardly and uncool.

They take the job knowing they will cop it. How is it cowardly when it is expected? Dude didn't even hide behind an internet handle. He owned it to his name and job title, even putting his own career at risk. Dumb, maybe, but not cowardly. Uncool? I believe Lockyer recently quoted "the standard you walk past is the standard you accept". Is that uncool?

I don't know why fans can't understand you don't accuse people of committing a serious crime like it's nothing. Fixing sporting matches is a SERIOUS crime. It's a jail sentence or close to it.

Like he said: getting up them for making a mistake is one thing, accusing them of bias is something else completely.

I'd actually love to see how many people are convicted on this. Please provide data. Also, if you are able, please provide data on how many officials have been investigated and found guilty of actual match fixing.

In any case, where is the accountability for performing poorly? A promtion to Origin?

The truth is, actually, that the refs are struggling, the league is struggling, and there is good reason to believe that there are entertainment mandates being placed on refs to keep games close, which interferes with their actual job of facilitating a game.

edit: forgot to mention the factions and cliques, e.g., Sutton gang.

According to Jensen's relatives (via a different social media page) .. he is absolutely devastated to not be playing. And there is no injury.
Healthy reaction. He'll be back.

Not your personal army.

You need to use common sense on this. Everything they do is forensically examined on live TV and then dissected the following week by experts and extremely biased observers who are anything but experts. All eager to scapegoat. All titillated by the drama. The checks and balances are overwhelming. Not the place to commit a crime.

It's not a matter of whether it happens and they get away with it. It's like ASIC and insider trading. The laws are in place.

I'm going to assume very few people have been convicted of said crime.

Common sense would also imply that people in positions of power are wont to abuse it. Refs have been found guilty of match fixing in the past, and the gambling industry is hardly an angelic one. Where is the common sense from you here?

Is it, though? Because one could easily flip this on your argument. Refs actually committing on-field frauds not being committed. The difference is that the accusations punch up with regards to holding those in power to account, and in your case they punch down, with those in power seeking to retain it and prevent further malcontents from dissenting.
