It still amazes me how clubs are willing to pay players such big money on the back of just one decent year.
Fear ..

From a financial point of view, there's never been a better time to be an NRL player than right now.. Fear will dictate that you're paid well above what you deliver and or deserve.

There's no such thing as a good deal from a club's point of view at the moment.. at least not for more than one season.

Alex Twal has now re-signed with the Tigers for 3 years taking a pay cut in the process. his new deal is worth $400k per season, down from $525k per season.

Jahream Bula has also re-signed with the Tigers until the end of 2027. Bula wanted a clause in his contract allowing him to leave if the Tigers missed the finals in the next 3 years. the Tigers have rejected this clause and instead made the 2027 season a mutual option. If Bula takes the option he is guaranteed $800k for 2027, if the club takes up the option he is guaranteed $900k. the 4 year deal is reportedly worth about $2.7 million to $2.8 million over the 4 years.
This makes no sense.

So in 2027, if the Tigers want him but really can't be fkd, they'll just not do anything and Bula elects himself and only gets $800k. But if Bula wants the option, he still only gets $800k. So in reality, the $900k will never be paid :D

If someone wants to pay him more than $800k then he can tell the Tigers to give him the $900k or he'll walk.

Makes sense. Cleary went up a level when he got injured so they really don't need him anymore.

Nuts. If he goes that will make them a stronger side.
I think they will be better on paper without him, but he's a big driver in their confidence and culture. He is penriff through and through and it would certainly make the players think twice about the this club against the world mentality they have.

Nathan cleary has cast aside the father-son issues but itd be a hard sell to have both the coaches sons as the halves and not have it shaped as nepotism if the youngest doesn't brain it straight away.

Do you think they are a better team with Cogger ?
Luai gives them options coming back off his left foot if the defence is up in the faces of his outside men . Leads to a lot of tries .

He did sweet FA in the final . But he only had one arm working .
I don`t like him . But I acknowledge he adds to the Panthers arsenal when he is fit .

They are a better team with Cogger, because Cleary was a better player without Luai. He proved that. He went up a level and he’s more than capable of maintaining that.

This idea that Luai leaving will hurt Panthers, nah.

Lol if that deal goes through then the NRL needs to step in and sack the entirety of Wests, because they're either too incompetent to be responsible for an NRL license or they're participating in some form of fraud that bolsters other teams at the obvious expense of their own.

29yr old Olam who is not even making the PNG team for a 23yr old backrower with huge promise... even if they don't need Blore they should be looking for a better trade than Olam ffs

Olam at his best is a pretty dangerous centre ... but you don't bring out your best by heading to the Tigers

It's coming from the Mole so likely could be bullshit.

But there's whispers that Hastings could be making a return to Salford to replace Croft.

Croft has knocked back NRL offers to sign a 3 year, $2 million deal with Leeds.

Titans, Tigers and Dragons were the ones who had reportedly enquired about his services
