Yeah he's up there in a select few in the grand final of worst Broncos signings:
- Martin Kennedy (is going to be hard to beat)
- Ben Barba
- Jack Bird
- Matt Lodge
- Motu Tony
- Joel Clinton

James Gavet

James Gavet

I did think of adding him but he was a depth signing, not a star. The others were all star signings. Gavet though played one game, did a knee or something and also bagged us on the way out, so not a terrible call to include him.

Not many backrowers really worth looking at for next year.

You’ve got Bunty Afoa from Warriors who’s on the outer, Jacob Host from Souths, Kenny Bromwich and Felise Kaufusi from Dolphins, Jamal Shibasaki from Cowboys. They might be the only ones worth taking a punt on but then we don’t have much cap room left.

Maybe our scouts could find a gem in the reserves.

Think it’s going to be more of the same for next year until the new broadcast deal starts.

No idea why we haven't snapped up Jibasaki. Maybe he doesn't want to come? He's basically guaranteed to have the 17 jersey at worst if he wants it.

I'd go for Jibasaki.

The club might be thinking they can use Jett next year as well... I think he's on a dev deal this year and might be in the top 30 next year.

He could fulfil that 17 jersey role next year if he can play a bit of centre, but I've only seen him in the trial at the start of the year

I really wanted Ben barba to work out. Luckily prime Milford came along and gave us a few good years.

I wouldn't call Lodge in the running for the worst. He's honestly probably had more good games than bad for the Broncs. It only fell apart towards the end with both him and TPJ after getting those big contracts, though Lodge was probably the more consistent player.

Fair points but I included him because even though his large contract was unlikely his fault, it symbolised everything wrong with the club. He was lucky to be in league at all and so why the club gets him as much as they did for as long as they did, I’ll never understand it.
