The offer that didn't even warrant a reply was rumoured to be 300k with us paying 675 or w/e the remainder of his pay was.

Whatever the case, it is a disgrace.

Yeah **** paying him to play against us. He can be here and get his Broncos salary, or he can go elsewhere and get nothing from us.
I agree. Unless we have someone really good lined up 100%.

Whilst i agree with you, i believe the logic behind letting him go is to free up some funds to help resign players they actually want to keep.

At least that's what i think.

Impressed with capewell, appears to be a quality, reliable, no frills player with a decent footy brain/capacity to read the attack.

Only caught out twice for speed in a position he doesnt play in.

He was extremely impressive, would love to bring him, Su'A and Allan on board for the Broncs next year. Grant would be the icing on top.

Stop it , that would be insane!

Would also love to get Gagai back. Didn’t think I’d be saying that
His performance tonight starts to question whether you could pick him up on a decent deal.

He's no spring chicken anymore (will be 30yr old in January) so his next contract will be his last decent one, but he hasn't really done himself many favours at Souths on his apparent $700k contract.

Current contract ends at the end of 2021 and he's someone that Souths have been trying to get off the books for a long time now.

I reckon he's a guy that we could pick up for $300-$350k (given he'd be 31 in Jan '22)... and would be a good starting winger or solid center if injuries required it.

He's also been pretty good injury wise throughout his career.

We could still get Capewell if the board stop burying their heads in the sand and do the bold thing of doing their jobs and making stuff happen. Instead, they’ll likely review the need to do their jobs and then lament the missed opportunity once it is past.
