This has been the Oates experience for many years now. He'll have games where he drops the ball a handful of times and then have games where he jumps in the air and defuses every single contested bomb that goes his way. Just never know what you're gonna get.
Very true. But then there was 2021 Oates.

was Hunt. who i thought went ok. Some decent hit ups. Should have scored a try and D ok. Willing to give him more time to become a back up

If people had an issue with Baker, then the should have an issue with Hunt.

Hunt mate one third of the metres that Baker did but was on field twice as long.

Hunt: 66 mins, 3 runs for 33 m
Baker: 34 mins, 8 runs for 90 m

Pereira over Karapani

Pereira is playing in a terrible team and has played fullback once was outstanding against Dolphins and tried his heart out last night in a terrible Souths effort in the second half. Still made ground and Souths only had 44% of the ball- 13 hit ups.

But he also dropped three last week at fullback.

I haven't been impressed by Karapani at all, he's like a 1970's winger just stays out on the sideline and scores a try.

Last week was played in pouring rain and Bears forwards are screaming out for help and he comes up with five runs and 45m. Ground is hard to come by in a foot of water and all the other outside backs made more runs.

He keeps getting subbed at the end of games, he lasted the 80 today but no idea why he needs replacing at the end of games.

Having said that Karapani certainly fixed it against the Jets, someone has said might be time to do something.

176m
1 try- great put down too.

Big improvement from 45m.

He is a gun .
I only saw a limited amount of him . But I liked what I saw .

We don't have anyone else to cover centre/wing and back row, so the bench is his until further notice.

Oates at centre ??

You clazy blo ! .

Oates can cover centre/fullback/wing by playing wing, while one of the others shifts position. Cobbo and Arthars can play wing/centre or fullback. Mariner can play wing or centre.

In the absence of injury, Oates plays a bench forward role. OBVIOUSLY.

Can you name another player who could do this better? Not Sailor, unfortunately.

Also preparing for them to be extra grubby and slow in the ruck given his threats to wrestle. A fart in a sauna is more likeable than Ricky
He doesnt worry me. Hes interesting to watch when they lose. I dont gamble but id take a piece of him supporting the ref two weeks in a row (especially given they are playing brisbane). Theyd be good odds on it i think.

Mariner trained and a chance. Surely not. They'd go after his back, or his eyes (Hudson).

He should be zero chance ... Just like Walsh should be pulled, that specialised head gear might as well have a 🎯 painted on it
