I don't hate the storm. I know I am an outlier on here. I know a couple of ex storm players and I live in Melbourne. Aami Park is a good venue and atmosphere, particularly Anzac night game.
Unlike almost all on here, Melbourne is my second team. I live in Melbourne and go to the games. A bit like Lang Park in the 90s. Also, in AFL land it's a nice little oasis.
Agree it's not overs based on what could have been paid and the criteria you have set out. I think it is a little bit of overs in cap management. 1.2 on a prop is not ideal.
That's because the whole town of Brisbane will click on the stories. Walsh and Mam I think will stay. We have already lost Flegler, Palasia and Herbie and will probably lose Oates, Capewell in the next year or two.
I think we will lose Capewell, Oates and possibly Hetherington. I think we will also lose Sailor at some point if he isn't in the 17. I hope that we don't pay overs for any non spine player to stay as that will cause issues moving forward.
No. I don't think Pep wanted him. I think those he does like are better to stay and bide there time for a year or two before potentially leaving or becoming part of the best 11. Not sure they wanted to play Rodri as much as they did but Phillips didn't work out.
I think that Pep comment is more being gracious on his departure than endorsing him. But also Lavia like Sancho and others clearly didn't want to bide his time out of the first team. Take your point about Poch and Kovacic.
I agree. He is a quality player but not worth the money if it effects keeping Mam, Walsh and others. Two first grade quality props to replace him for that money will do nicely.
I agree. He is a good player but we can do without him. I think the same about Herbie too. Those players you can't pay overs for and so glad we didn't. An experienced solid forward to replace him will suffice.
