No doubt we were in the running to sign Lolohea, but I think our chances have taken a hit with Kearney going to the Warriors. If McFadden remained coach, I believe Lolohea would of wanted out, but I'd think Kearney has a high opinion of him from working in the Kiwi national side and wouldn't let him leave so easily.
I think Lolohea is a great player, and to me I believe he is a natural five-eighth who can play fullback, as well as anywhere in the backline at a pinch. From watching him progress through the under 20s, I thought he would be the next big thing, but having a clueless coach whose continually screwed him around, hasn't allowed him to develop as a five-eighth.
If we were to sign him though, it would be more as a utility backline player. If anything I can see Melbourne potentially chasing him hard as a five-eighth especially with the Foran signing, so I'd doubt he'd want to be a utility player with us if given a starting halves position.
