2017 Line-up

Just how I read this post as a quote in someone else's reply. I can't see Boyd leaving in the next few years.

I noticed you conveniently removed the part of the post where I named my team with Lolohea in the centres and Hunt at halfback, lol.

At no point did I say we should replace Hunt with him, I simply said it would give us a better secondary option than Kodi Nikorima.

Ah right. Like I said I read it as a quote from someone else. Sorry for getting you twisted mate. Anyway, as a depth signing over KNik I would agree with you. As a centre, maybe but he would have to adjust to Bennett-ball and also play outside Milf so yeah maybe. I probably wouldn't sign him unless he was cheap. Just think the Broncos need to better develop their own talent pool. We have a fairly good array of players already.

Yeah I agree with everything you've said, I like our young outside backs, Opacic & Pearson look extremely promising, I just don't like our depth, as it stands (Assuming Oates moves to a bench forward role, as predicted by a couple of people with inside knowledge)

1. Boyd
2. Mead
3. Opacic
4. Roberts
5. Kahu

Depth: Pearson, Pangai, ??

Still think we need to sign at LEAST 1 more first grade level outside back.

Mosese Pangai yeah? I mean if Glenn continues to perform well he is definitely decent for another 2 years. I actually rate him a lot. Whatever happened to Seve? People were baying for him pre season. And maybe Su'A?

Glenn & Su'A are both forwards, despite their versatility, Seve recently signed for another season, so you can add him to the depth chart.

We have some pretty good depth for next year.

Do we need much more? I mean we didn't particularly hear much about the "depth" we had this year. I mean we did pretty well with Eden and Maranta. I'm sure there are a few more in the system

We had FAR more depth this season, we had Boyd, Oates, Reed, Roberts, Kahu, Maranta, Eden, Anderson, Opacic, Pearson, Seve.

Shift Oates to the forwards and get rid of Reed, Maranata, Eden & Anderson and suddenly if we have 2 injuries we're in serious trouble.

I feel that we are going to have a few spare wingers and centres next season..

As much as I love Mcguire I believe in crucial games against big forward packs he doesn't offer enough punch through the middle as a prop

But i believe as a lock he could be like Corey Parker and make 40 tackles a game as well as some good runs, for me he would just be the Parker of 2015 with a big motor

Blair is to me one of the best props going around, the second efforts as well as his 1% plays make him a beast as well as those bone rattling hits he pulls off.

im hoping we sign an accomplished prop to join Blair, i would be stocked with someone like, Ryan James, Dylan Napa, Sam Moa and maybe Paul Vaughn pending Bennett can get him to reach his full potential

Also I belive mitchell Dodds work went unnoticed i cant remember how many times last year Dodds pulled a great low tackle and forced an error, i dont think i would sign him manly because of the young forwards we have coming through and his horrific leg break he suffered at the start of this year

My 2017 side would go something like this

1. Boyd ( best fullback in the world )
2. Corey Oates (i just recon he already plays with so many injuries and he is only young, give the kid some time )
3. James Roberts
4. David Mead (we know he can attack give him a few games to test his defence and defensive reads, if he doesnt play well bring in Opacic)
5. Jordan Kahu
6. Milford
7. Hunt ( that's if we still have him )
8. hopefully James or Napa
9. Andrew Mccullough
10. Adam Blair
11. Matt Gillett ( left centre where i belong )
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Josh Mcguire ( big engine and can play big minutes )

14. Alex Glenn
15. Joe Ofahengaue
16. Tevita Pangai Jnr
17. Jai Arrow

those 3 young forwards will be a even better this year with a year of experience under there belt and the experience of a finals campaign i believe they will fire on all cylinders

Watching McGuire get bumped off by taumalolo was a brutally sad reminder of our forward pack size

No Kodi?

Kodi is a luxury we can't really afford most games until we start dominating opposition packs.

Sure he can turn a game in our favour, but I'm so worried every time he's in the defensive line, so I can see why Bennett would be hesitant to bring him back in permanently

As for that team of broncoboy's, it's pretty much what I'd run with for round 1 next year, save for Mead and Kahu swapping. I don't get Mead at centre when you have Kahu there.

Much too early to speculate on what the lineup will be in March with WB likely to make a couple changes to compensate for a disappointing season and it may look like this:

1 Boyd
2 Oates
3 Kahu
4 Opacic
5 Pearson
6 Milford
7 Nikorima
8 Napa
9 McCullough
10 McGuire
11 Glenn
12 Pangai
13 Gillett

14 Segeyaro
15 Ese'ese
16 Arrow
17 Blair
18 Thaiday

Hunt (Parra) and Jet (drunken behavior) to be released and Napa and Segy to be acquired. Obviously this may not happen but such is the unpredictable nature of RL that I had to throw those in.

So no Thaiday and no Gillett?

Aha. Yeah it 'may' look like this. Or it 'may' (ie: probably) not look anything like it whatsoever...

Whoops, meant to put Gillo in the 13 jersey. Last time I checked, your clairvoyancy skills weren't any better than mine, we will just have to wait and see.

Everyone in the competition gets bumped off by Taumalolo. Its not just us so there is nothing to ashamed of
