2017 Line-up

That's a big call anything can happen Bennett won't promise any player in this side a spot and will give anyone a game who earns it great example Whitchurch n look at kahu he was lucky to keep his spot in the side a couple of yrs ago n now he is nz representative he had constant knee troubles
An even bigger call is to say that Moga in one pre season with the club will go from an ISC player with ordinary form to a starting NRL player ahead of Mead, Pearson and Opacic. You are dreaming.

Whitchurch i think would make a great second rower if he could hold onto the ball better. Its the only thing that really lets him down, but its such a big problem.

Opacic Pearson made there debuts from no where this year mead is a winger so left center up for grabs and I'm not say moga is a certainty but he has the potential to be a gun and I looked up some games and moga was playing good for cutters

Moga has had way too many injuries for someone who's really just a power runner. Someone like Kahu has lost a fuckload of speed, but at least Kahu has other attributes.

Are you moga undercover? You can tell us.

Could Moga be any slower than Reed or Opacic? The guy has some skills from what I've seen of him.
If he's fit and can stay fit he's got loads of potential.

Moga has slowed down a hell of a lot from what i saw of him for the cutters. Opacic i dont think is particularly slow, he just doesnt have the acceleration. The Moga pre injury was a very good prospect indeed, the one i saw last season looked very average.

Moga has a good offload and his size often draws in two defenders. He is a good depth signing if he stays fit. Maybe if he trims down 3-4 kilos he can gain back some of his speed - competition for spots is what we want.

Agree. I think Moga would be the perfect signing for us.

Won't cost much and has pretty big up side.

Hasn't Marion Seve had similar wraps on him through his junior footy career, minus a few ACL injuries?

He's had a year of open age footy under his belt and was on the cusp of making his nrl debut for one or two games.

Similarly Moses Pangai was Q cup centre of the year, so you'd have to give him fair odds of pushing his way into the team if centre position remains problematic

On the right deal, he could be a bargain if he can show he is over his injuries.

I may be unpopular for saying this but I see Opacic as no more than a backup centre. Personally I would like to see someone like Seve or Moses Pangai (and even Moga if we sign him) get first shot at left centre and see how they go. If they kill it then they will be able to take some pressure off Milford in attack on that side and hopefully defend well.

Opacic has great defence but doesn't have the weapons, passing game and speed that I think the others could offer.

So...Opacic to lock? ;)

Haha I'm thinking no...

But I guess someone will have the chance to show what they can down in the first month when Opacic is out with his shoulders.

I was just wondering what are your BroncosHQ members thoughts on all these players movements and retirees do you think them not being with us next season will be a big loss or a tiny bit or not really.

Here is what I think.
we will miss Parkers involvement but I hope we replace him with just as much involvement if so even better.
Wallace coming off the bench will be a loss but I hope Dodds can be provide us the goods and even if we get Napa will be 2 good forwards.
Even though Reed barely played this season due to injuries he will be missed.
Maranta has had better seasons then this one but he was fairly good in 2015.
Greg Eden I think not at all the only game I reckon he had a top game was when we versed Wigan Warriors at the start of the year for world cup.

Thoughts? here are all of the retired players and a couple that have moved to different clubs.

Greg Eden
Corey Parker
Jarrod Wallace
Jack Reed
Lachlan Maranta

That's y we need McGuire to move to lock n be our gallen

So you are saying taking one of our two only experienced front rowers out of the rotation is going to help with the point i was making of ensuring we don't have too many inexperienced forwards on the field at once? Why are some people really struggling to see why McGuire/Blair moving to lock without any front row signings is a bad idea for the immediate future.

We haven't really had a chance to see Toms passing game tbf. He has played every game with a busted shoulder ( two in the cowboys game ) and its really restricted his range of movement. He actually has very good ball playing skills, he just hasnt really had a chance to show it due to his injury. As i said before, he isnt slow, but he does lack that acceleration, but he certainly knows how to score a try ( scored about 25 iirc for the u'20s, 4 in 8 at nrl level ).

He still has a lot to get to grips with, left centre is relatively new to him as he has always played on the right, but apart from his lack of acceleration i think he has everything it takes tbh. Hopefully, our backline stays fit and healthy and there should be some decent competition for places next season.
