2017 Line-up

If he is fit, Opacic deserves first crack.

I thought he was one of our better players in the back end of the season.

We haven't really had a chance to see Toms passing game tbf. He has played every game with a busted shoulder ( two in the cowboys game ) and its really restricted his range of movement. He actually has very good ball playing skills, he just hasnt really had a chance to show it due to his injury. As i said before, he isnt slow, but he does lack that acceleration, but he certainly knows how to score a try ( scored about 25 iirc for the u'20s, 4 in 8 at nrl level ).

He still has a lot to get to grips with, left centre is relatively new to him as he has always played on the right, but apart from his lack of acceleration i think he has everything it takes tbh. Hopefully, our backline stays fit and healthy and there should be some decent competition for places next season.

You could be right.

Definitely hoping everyone can stay fit so we don't see a repeat of this year.

personally I want to see Kahu move to left center with Pearson and Mead to fight it out for the right wing position.

I want Oates to stay on the left wing, we can even get Kahu to move to the wing on the last tackle to defend the high ball instead of Oates

It's funny how some people want one of these (former) highly-touted young guys to come in over Opacic, a veteran of 9 games. The double-shoulder surgery/reco is concerning, sure, but he certainly didn't disgrace himself this year. Give the guy a chance ffs

I think Kahu will get first chance at left centre with Mead on the right wing. Kahu moving to the centres has been a long time coming, plus playing inside Oates will make a leathal combination. It pains me that Oppa can't crack the side but i really like him and he has a great work ethic and very well could push his way in. Same goes for Pearson on the wing. The rest are behind them. Thats what i expect and thats what i prefer too.

I was just wondering what are your BroncosHQ members thoughts on all these players movements and retirees do you think them not being with us next season will be a big loss or a tiny bit or not really.
Here is what I think.
we will miss Parkers involvement but I hope we replace him with just as much involvement if so even better.
Wallace coming off the bench will be a loss but I hope Dodds can be provide us the goods and even if we get Napa will be 2 good forwards.
Even though Reed barely played this season due to injuries he will be missed.
Maranta has had better seasons then this one but he was fairly good in 2015.
Greg Eden I think not at all the only game I reckon he had a top game was when we versed Wigan Warriors at the start of the year for world cup.

Thoughts? here are all of the retired players and a couple that have moved to different clubs.

Greg Eden
Corey Parker
Jarrod Wallace
Jack Reed
Lachlan Maranta

I know that there is a couple I missed but I did that on purpose because there not a big impact on our game to date.

Matt Minto to Souths- that could impact on the Broncos positively.

He will do the off-season at Brisbane- Souths with Minto and Scarlett plus a whole Broncos' forward pack will be dangerous next year.

He already has a good relationship with Benny from Newcastle.

Where will Tautau Moga play and what do you think of the signing?

If he's half the player his uncle was we should get him on a Top 25 contract ASAP.

Oh...my...gosh! We have another Minto??? Prepare for a decade dominance!!

Oats needs to stay on the wing he has to much speed and finishing ability should wait till he slows down n move him into second row then

I think mead is a back up winger that's why he is on so low wage kahu will be left wing and it will be a 3 way battle between moga pangai and opacic

Moga hasn't even officially signed yet mate

Mead is significantly more experienced, and has more toe than either of those three you have named. I would be very surprised if he misses out on a spot to any of them. He can find the line - but is more suited to wing than centre. Kahu should be the centre has a better all round game than any player you have named.
