Jack Bird might have to play off the bench while he's putting on size in the gym. Can be a super sub utility! Almost can cover every position on the field

I reckon he should stay in the backs if we sign another quality forward like Walmsley (assuming we also have Lodge signed). No reason why he can't play a Lyon type role out wide/ roam around the field.

I'm cool for that too. Just depends where he's expected to play and what's been discussed

This extended rehab from a shoulder injury isn’t going to help him put on size to play in the forwards fulltime...

Call me crazy but i think wayne should be in kallum watkins ear telling him to come to brisbane

Shouldn't bird ultimately be responsible for saying his shoulder hasn't been right for a while. He played a rep game recently for gods sake.

It wouldn’t be the first time that an injury was expected to heal without surgery but just doesn’t respond as planned. It’s just a matter of whether the Broncos docs have a different opinion of how well it’s progressing, or whether it is obvious it needed surgery and how long that’s been apparent.

We have just signed Matt Lodge on a 1 year contract for 85k. (**** yeah)

F*ck yes! A one year contract to prove himself and his commitment and if he succeeds likely bigger money down the track...

Didn't he want to quit nrl because he wouldn't make enough money to support his family. 85k is minimum wage for nrl players. That's all it took to sway him? (Great news if true)

Minimum wage was bumped up to $100k yesterday, and I wouldn't be surprised if we've given him a handshake deal that if he performs as expected, he'll be getting a long-term, significantly upgraded offer next season.

Yep, clearly a one year test to confirm his commitment and efforts to change his ways and then bigger bucks down the track.
