2019 Broncos Line-up

Welp, there it is then.

I don't think Su'a is a certainty to start and think he may even be out of the 17 if we only carry one edge forward on the bench. The amount of injuries we had in our back row last year meant there was never really any hierachy established between Glenn, Su'a and Fifita. On form Fifita would be slightly ahead with a reduced sample size, but as he's the youngest that may (or may not) count against him. Su'a's also coming off a serious leg injury that we're yet to see him return from in a competitive match. It's probably a moot point though, as there's no way we get through the pre-season intact.

I think Fafita is a real chance at getting that run on spot if he’s high training efforts stay high.

Seibold is a big su'a fan , chased him when he was at the rabbits. Also said he is most excited about coaching him and fafita , must love his backrowers.

" Josh McGuire was a regular in the No.13 jersey following the retirement of Corey Parker but Seibold said it was a moot point whether Pangai played prop or lock.
"There are three middles in my teams and there is no difference in their role description. The eight, 10 and the 13 all have the same job," he said. "

Haha **** thank god finally the coach has clarified to everyone that there is no difference between lock and prop. We can stop debating whether someone is a lock or prop for as long as Seibold is our coach.

What a load of rubbish. Of course there is a difference between a lock and a prop. It just depends on the system a particular coach plays. The only part you have correct about it is that Seibold basically wants to use them as 3 middle forwards, so it's irrelevant to us as it stands now.

Maybe we’ll have three locks, rather than three props. Depends what AS’ interpretation of a middle is.

That's exactly it. If Seibs want them all to play as middle forwards that's fine. It's his game plan. Each position doesn't have just one particular style that has to be adhered to. Look at Addo-Carr and Corey Oates. Both wingers, but they play the same role totally differently.

I remember you preaching the fact that Carrigan was a prop and not a lock.

That sort of discussion is irrelevant now

I also meant that there is no difference in the coaches mind, which is what matters

That's probably the most likely

Hopefully it means that our middle forwards won’t have rigid and predictable roles. Just because you wear 13 doesn’t mean you take the 4th hit up and any of them can offload. I thought it was ridiculous last year that it was made public that TPJ was told not to offload.

He is a prop, that doesn't mean he isn't capable of playing in other positions.

And if you meant in the coaches mind, you certainly didn't type it that way. And I would bet Seibold also wouldn't agree that there is no difference between a lock and a prop, he would just acknowledge in his current setup he likes his lock to play like a prop. He is a student of the game and a smart man. He would accept there isn't a one size fits all approach.

I guess it will mean probably won't carry a utility on the bench unless we have injury concerns. I'd say will be looking at 3 middle forwards and a backrower

The main difference between prop and lock is the side of the field they play. Lock is next to the hooker and props are either side.

Yeah that's what I think. I'd go with glenn and mago

I'm not convinced we will carry 2 backrowers. I do think Seibold comments make it clear we will start now with TPJ, Lodge and Offa.

I'd like to see us with One back rower plus Carrigan, Haas and Tagatese/Fensom as our rotation.

Possibly but which one do you drop from the bench? mago proved he can be great impact, and Glenn is solid with utility value. Fifita can play back row and center, and hass has the muscle and motor .

You'd drop Mago easily imo. I don't see the big debate - infact I'd rather Taga on the bench than him for his experience.

I think I'd drop Fifita in and out. He is still really young, we can afford to take our time with him and let him develop. We have so much depth in the forwards we can manage both the older guys like Gillo and Glenn and the younger blokes better than we have. Of course, so much competition as well means whoever is in the side really needs to perform as there are blokes ready to take their places.

I think the bench is the hardest part to pick of our squad with the options we have.
