The peptide enhanced version of Gallen seemed to go all day... :pesas:Lazarus?

Normally I'd agree with you but players like Sua and fifita have stepped upto every challenge presented to them. I think it's upto players like Glenn to prove they deserve to be ahead of the future - and I'm a huge Glenn fan and think he should be somewhere in the 17.
Unleash the youngsters. Give them the confidence to prove they can do it week in week out as they largely have thus far.
For mine, haas would be the 18th man. I dont think he's proven much comparatively to the two aforementioned.
Plus I think Staggs has to be in there somewhere. He's got it.
But we could carry two back-rowers on the bench if the other two benchies are middle forwards, and a suitable utility is starting (eg, Glenn).
Su’A will play origin this year and Fifita has developed so much and already in origin question with players like that once in generation kind of players they have every chance to be picked over Glenn. The trials will definitely decide a lot imo.
I agree there will be ups and downs, but we need to allow that to happen. We can't be afraid of them having a bad game and thus switching them in and out of the side - seniors have bad games too.Thing is though, how many young players, especially forwards play a whole season on top form. We havent seen it from either yet. As good as they are, we still need to manage their development.

I don't think Su'a or Fifita have had problems with that. It's not necessarily about good and bad games, it's more about what is best for their development. For some players, they may struggle under fatigue, so it's better for them to be playing big minutes in Q-Cup to build up that part of their game. For others, fatigue may not be an issue, but they may be struggling with the increased detail and execution of first grade, so a 10 - 15 minute stint in NRL may be best.
Su’A is also 21 that’s not exactly a rookies age he is a man.
I don't think Su'a will play origin this year.
There are too many edge backrowers ahead of him
Matt Gillett
Felise Kaufusi
Josh Papalii
Coen Hess
Rhyse Martin
I don't think Su'a or Fifita have had problems with that.
I mean, Su'a played 80mins as an 18yo and didn't look out of place at all - would've played out the season had he not broke his ankle.
Whereas Fifita came in halfway through the season when we were down on players and consistently played well.
It's not as if we're talking about players that have zero runs on the board.
I feel like people are going well outta their way to justify things that don't really exist. Is fifita 10/10 in every aspect? Of course not. I dont think anyone is even asking for him to start, simply be in the 17 so he can continue his trajectory.Bit unfair to compare him to Gillett. Before his injury, he was the best defensive second rower in the world, arguably. Even Gillett was once a shockingly bad defender, arm grabbing and falling off tackles. He learnt his trade and specialisation in the NRL.
Lazzo was solid reliable and bent the line every time. But he was not a big minutes man as I recall.Lazarus?
I remember him cover defending like an old school lock on occasion. He was mobile for a big guy.Lazzo was solid reliable and bent the line every time. But he was not a big minutes man as I recall.

Pretty sure he was the big minute prop. Gallen's 80 minutes of Origin at prop was compared to Lazarus' heroic big-minute efforts.
