2020 Round 1 Line up

Prior to any offseason movements of any kind and assuming 100% fitness across the board, this is my realistic, preferred team:

1. Isaako
2. Oates
3. Bird
4. Staggs
5. Farnworth
6. Milford
7. Dearden
8. Lodge (c)
9. Turpin
10. Haas
11. Fifita
12. Gillett
13. TPJ

14. Glenn/Segeyaro
15. Carrigan
16. Flegler
17. Ofahengaue

I'd be happy to give that a crack , could swap bird and isaako also.

According to Hooper, we don't have enough money in the cap to pay for Croft, so there's zero chance we're going to have enough to get Holmes as well, unless for whatever reason someone wants to take the entirety of Bird & McCullough's contracts off our books, which simply isn't going to happen. It seems at this stage if we want those 2 guys off our books, we're going to be paying 50%+ of their salaries.
Bird is a decent prospect, I'm comfortable that someone will take him during the offseason. AM9 is a tougher sell. Realistically the Titans can get the same out of Rein for less money, but it's certainly a possibility. The Cowboys have Granville for two more seasons so that probably rules them out. Hard to see him wanting to leave Queensland which makes it hard for a Sydney club to entice him. Playing first grade somewhere might be the only drawcard that could work.

I can only see England taking Macca and Gillett. Boyd won't go anywhere unfortunately. Retirement is our best hope. If we can't move these guys on we are in trouble for next few years.

Macca would be a good option for:

Super League
Titans (he would provide them a lot in terms of professionalism)
Manly
Newcastle
Bulldogs (same as Titans reason)
Tigers (He is perfect here to be honest)
Manly don't need him as well covered there. Newcastle signed Brailey, Titans have rein and peats, Bulldogs a possibility. Marshall King doing well but Macca not a bad backup as they are letting go lichaa Brown and missed out on korisau. Tigers have Liddle to step and I don't think they will be interested. Super League the best chance

Would you swap Taylor for Boyd, Macca or Gillett?

I think even getting Croft is a win. If we get him once Smith retires they have no organizer.
Harry grant, will be a better player than Croft. And Croft isn't much of a organizer.

Boyd AND Macca.

I reckon someone out there would be interested in Gillett.

1. Jesse Arthars / Isaako / Farnworth
2. Corey Oates
3. Kotoni staggs
4. Darius Boyd / Arthars
5. Arthars / Isaako / Farnworth
6 Milford (however if he doesn’t pull his act together that will be sos spot pretty quickly
7. Croft
8. Matt Lodge (C)
9. Jake Turpin
10. Payne Haas
11 David Fifita Jnr
12. Matt Gillett
13. Pat Carrigan
14. Cory Paix
15. Joe Ofehangue
16. Ethan Bullemor / Alex Glenn
17. Tevita Pangai Jnr

I only have Alex Glenn as a maybe as I believe that pangai Jnr plays better at second row than lock or prop and I don’t think 2 second towers and a utility in the bench is good so I went with young prop Ethan Bullemor

4. Staggs
5. Farnworth
6. Milf

12. Pangai Jnr
13. Carrigan

14. Paix

we're obviously getting a bargain with Bird, since he can play two positions simultaneously ...
