If those two do leave then we have 1.5 mil or so (depending on how much of Macca’s contract we take on) to spend. With Boyd going the following year surely we have a player of Ponga’s caliber in our sights?

While I agree yes, if we keep Fafita and Oates they will be taking some of that cash as they are coming off contract. That lineup above also would mean Bird left which is more free'd up cash.

In the unlilely scenario that that much cap space was free you would have to assume a decent half and Val/KP would be in our sights.

This is as close to as good as it's probably going to get unfortunately. I think it looks a little stronger with an established Half if we can get one, which you've already pointed out.

Personally I'd leave Paix in Queensland Cup along with Dearden. Neither of those guys should be getting junk minutes off the Bench for us when they could be playing full games at a great standard in the Queensland Cup.

If milf is fullback (which i dont think he should be), he has a massive amount of work to do on his defensive positioning, fitness, support play and involvement.

If bird is 6, we definitely need to purchase a game managing halfback. Although i think dearden will get there, it is unfair to expect him to lead the broncos when he is still learning his game, and so few senior players for guidance.
