With Niu out, we have 2 spots left in the top 30. There's also the question of TC Robati.

Given the glut of fullbacks, I can't see us needing to upgrade Jack Ahearn.

I personally think we are still short an experienced depth half and another old head in the forwards - preferably second row.

Yes, we should've kept Tommy Dearden. We'd now have Reynolds and Dearden as halves, with Ezra as understudy for when Reynolds retires, which, worst case scenario, might even be this year. Madden looks promising, but he's no old head, neither is Ezra and neither is the incoming hooker.

But working with what we have to hand, hopefully this is the year Jordan Riki blossoms. Otherwise, he might be back in the Cup sooner than later.

Yeah, with Tesi,Turpin, Isaako, and Milf finally gone the last there is only really Riki and Hooker that is questionable . The rest of the team is strong. Not a knock, just an observation. Plenty of teams have success with a couple dodgey roster spots

But Dearden would have been an 'old head' at the ripe old veteran age of...21? 21 being almost a full one year YOUNGER than Madden?

Actually 22 this year and entering his fifth year of NRL with a successful - against all odds - Origin under his belt, and being instrumental in turning a bottom of the table side into a premiership contender. He was mature above his years on debut.

Except last year, Dearden was essentially a fringe first grader who then went and performed well above expectation in a good side. Who is to say Mam won't do exactly the same this year? He is a similar age to what Dearden was when he levelled up (one year younger) and has shown a HEAP more than Dearden has at this point of their respective careers. Mam could go the way of Sandow, who knows but at this point in their careers, Mam looks like he has a FAR bigger upside, he just hasn't had the same time and opportunity to explode like Dearden did yet. Plus Dearden did it in a far better and far more mature team this year than Mam has.

The point is, even going by your logic, Dearden wasn't an 'old head' this time last year.

I wonder if we offered Dave the right sort of money whether or not he'd consider coming back, he's obviously mates with a lot of the guys in the team. When I say right money, I mean right money for both parties. I don't think his heart has ever been in it at the Titans

He's worth 700k.

900k in Canberra or 700k in Brisbane, I'd take Brisbane everytime. From a club perspective I'd give him 3 years and back the coaching staff to get him to his best.

With Tesi gone we've freed up some money, Robati is an unknown but potentially more money free there although I doubt he was on more than 200-250.

I think going against my own gut I'd be inclined to say that having Fifita back in the fold in the second row would really make a good pack quite outstanding. There is obviously more talent to share the workload, but if I had the choice I'd rather we grabbed Tino.

Well you could potentially speak with the Titans about some kind of swap deal involving Palasia and of course salary on top of that. That would benefit both parties.

It is obvious that Dave loves the Broncos, not sure what the Raiders think they can do that the Titans weren't able to do. Plus Canberra is boring and cold, not really what you would imagine Dave is looking for.

And I've been resisting all offseason but time for a team list and assuming Haas, Robati and Willison and Kobe are out (Haas probably will play but you never know):

1. Walsh
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Farnworth
5. Cobbo
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
8. Flegler
9. Walters
10. Jensen
11. Capewell
12. Riki
13. Carrigan

14. Paix
15. Palasia
16. Bayliss-Brow
17. Piakura

Fatima Kdouh and Paul Crawley have posted their best 17.
Same as @Sproj , except 10 & 16, because they haven't read a paper in two months.

1. Reece Walsh
2. Corey Oates
3. Kotoni Staggs
4. Herbie Farnworth
5. Selwyn Cobbo
6. Ezra Mam
7. Adam Reynolds
8. Thomas Flegler
9. Billy Walters
10. Payne Haas
11. Kurt Capewell
12. Jordan Riki
13. Pat Carrigan

14. Cory Paix
15. Keenan Palasia
16. Kobe Hetherington/TC Robati
17. Brendan Piakura

Plus they add:
Positional battle: Hooker
Analysis: Billy Walters never gives anything less than 100 per cent and because of that you can’t ask anything more from him. But you also can’t hide from the fact Walters is more a utility than a specialist dummy half, and as a result this remains the one obvious weakness in this current Broncos roster. If Cory Paix can get an injury-free run he has the talent to be the long-term answer at nine, while the club has high hopes for Blake Mozer (although he's considered more of a long-term project).
