With the updated salary cap, I can see him being on 600 / 4 years.
Kotoni is supposed to be on $700k, so maybe use that as a yardstick. I rate Kotoni higher but most folk around these parts disagree. And Herbie seems to be on the up, whereas Kotoni maybe not. Also the general consensus seems to be we paid him too much. So yeah, $600K seems like a good price, but he might be able to get more elsewhere.

I don't know what bearing this might have but Kotoni's contract came with an angling he might slot into 6; Herbie similarly at 1. Both being higher value positions than centre. They're also both excellent, albeit underexploited, goalkickers.

Didn’t watch many of their games, tbh but wasn’t Walsh goal-kicking for the Warriors last year as well?

Obviously with Reynolds as no.1 kicker we are pretty damn stacked in that department, if so…

I wish our no.9 and back-row was so stacked…

Wouldn’t be surprised if Capewell could slot them over okay too

And to think it wasn’t that long ago our first choice kicker was Corey Parker, who on his worst days (which there were far too many of), couldn’t hit the side of a barn.

Yes, Corey's rate was 65.2% in his final season. He started out okay, but got worse and worse over the years as we persisted with him. Thurston's was 77.8% in his final season.

Out of interest what is the go with Logan Bayliss? I've seen him named in squad but not heard much about him?

Cause he is shit. Respectfully, he seems like he is the cheapie they keep rolling with to make up numbers cause we are in a bit of a cap squeeze. Can’t believe the bloke has a top 30, he doesn’t even stand out in cup. Very big boy so either he is on the roids and no ASADA officials could be fucked to test the nobody or he runs like a deadset cat.

Fair enough I just never seen him play nor even heard his name thrown around. I would have thought the lad have a photo in the player roster on the Broncos website by now.

I was probably being a bit harsh on the bloke but it is very clear he does not belong. Didn’t do anything of note against some pretty crappy sides at the WC for Scotland and he has been average as shit in cup for a bloke who really has taken up the ‘I’ll give you inch and you can choose to take a mile’ forward spot in the squad for the past few years and he has done **** all with it. It seems like he might be a really reserved and quiet bloke who just goes about his life quietly, a bit like Corey Jensen except you know, Shit. I would much rather him around than a spoilt brat but at the end of the day we were probably 1 middle forward short (before taupau) but cause he was one of them it felt like 2 sort of situation. Nice bloke though it seems but he can be a nice bloke on a t&t or at the magpies rather than top 30.

This, and your previous comment, were a real rollercoaster 😂

With the self entitled prick going to the dogs. Can someone explain how a transfer fee works in the NRL. I imagine it just money for the Broncos Leagues Club. Not cap money.

If a player wants out and you want him you have to pay his current club for him to get out. It's been happening forever. Warriors paid a small truckload for Tomkins. Raiders paid for Bateman, SBW had to pay out the Dogs 750K and cop a 5-year ban for them to release him.

You didn’t really answer his question, what does the money go towards? Salary cap, business, end of year piss up, Milfords maccas runs, Herbies haircuts, kevvies coaching lessons, adams next tattoo? We don’t know

Someone has to fork up the money for all the boys we promised jobs if they retired/left early. Boyd, Macca, Gillo

Is this the first time we've seen it between 2 NRL clubs?

I know in European football it's the primary way to get a player, almost as though the salary is irrelevant
