We’re pretty light on for forward depth looking at that. Trusting in a lot of kids again there.

Currently, the forwards are:
Middles: Carrigan, Jensen, Flegler, Haas though he won’t be there, Willison, Bayliss-Brow, Robati, Hetherington
Back row: Riki, Capewell, Robati, Te Kura, Piakura, Staggs?
Hooker: Smoothy, Paix, Walters, Mozer

lathers a lot of youth in there, promising for sure but unproven in a lot of ways. Am I forgetting someone?

I'd say Palasia will get a new deal (if he hasn't already)

Ahh yes but is he signed on? I hope so, he’s a good player.
Re-signed till 2023.

The club didn't make an official announcement, but NRL.com broke the news (and the re-signings of Mariner, Quai-Ward etc.) on their Player Tracker.

Counting Smoothy & Walters, Brisbane have one more spot they'll have to announce before March 2023.

i'm thinking it'll be a journeyman forward, possibly from a QLD Cup train and trial deal

so 11 players from this years squad are moving on in 2023

that leaves just 10 players from Seibold's 2020 wooden spoon side.

looks like the cleanout is now complete, moving forward only tinkering should be necessary *touch wood*
The only Seibold player leaving is Rhys Kennedy.

Players who left during/after this season and who they debuted under:

Isaako: Bennett
Turpin: Bennett
Mead: Bennett/Walters
Gamble: Peter Gentle
Brenko: Walters
Ryan: Walters
Kelly: Walters
Martin: Walters
Roberts: Walters
Hosking: Walters
Kennedy: Seibold

With Jesse Arthars returning, the Seibold balance is therefore: lose one, gain one.

A while ago i wrote that we should enquire where Nathan brown (parra) sat but given that he is included in the GF team, he may no longer be on the outer with parra which is a shame as I think he has the aggression we need.

I wouldnt mind looking at a player like lachlan timm. Given we have middles that can play big minutes we could look at someone a bit different. A big mature body that can bend the defensive line and can push out about 20-30 mins. Just with the simple job to run hard, find his front and get quick play the ball.

Apparently Tamou is headed back to the Cowboys. Pity, I wouldn’t mind him at the club in the same role Ryan James played this year.
Could mean McLean is available...

He is gonna cost a sh1t ton more money than Ryan James .
Mc Lean was in the NSW Origin team . Then the Kangaroos train on squad .
I didnt suggest that he was a James replacement... he'd be more like a 15 off the bench that plays every week.

He'd be more of an option if Haas legged it... or if we wanted Kobe in the 17 covering middle and edge

McClean's non defence was pretty bad in their semi, Boyd level.

We need someone like Bunty Afoa, big body, runs hard and straight and hurts with their attack and defence. Would compliment what we have now perfectly. Last few rounds we were getting "too cute" in the middle, trying to ball play and doing dumb shit instead of just smashing it up the guts.

Flegler looked great towards the back end because that's what he was doing.

We have enough skill, get a wrecking ball.

Hopefully John Bateman or Sua
Su'a could be realistic but not Bateman, otherwise we would all be questioning why there was that much money sitting around.

How much do you think he’d need? He’s in the SL wanting a return to
NRL. Wouldn’t be more than Sua surely

he will have multiple clubs throwing $$$ at him if he seriously wants back. he won't come that cheaply.

Atleast 700k I would think, it would be more then what Su'a could get, Bateman hasn't gotten worse and he has been mostly playing Lock now.

Is Xavier Willison in the Top 30 or Development now? If he's in the top 30, we only have one space left, and that's not counting Billy Walters. If we extend Billy, that's us for 2023.
