In regards to the new salary cap, I would like to see management keep a good amount aside like 300k which can be used as a bonus reward for the top 3 players. Eg. Hass get 150k, Mam gets 100k and Walsh gets 50k for being top performers on top of their contracts.
I like that idea but not for haas. I don't want the players to think of it as an expectation either. Use as a "add a year to your contract.." possibly

Will we need to look for a new forward if TC gets sacked and signed by the Dolphins or Roosters?

Broncos aren't going to sack him only way he is getting sacked is if the NRL deem what he did unworthy to be in the NRL and then he cannot go to anyone.

Can't remember where I saw this, but Kevvie said in an interview Tesi isn't going anywhere. For what that's worth.

So he's gone then 🤔🤔
Fucked if I know. The platitudes Kevvie churns out tend to be pretty close to irrelevant. I wouldn't bet either way on anything he says. But that's what he said...

I can't see a spot at fullback for him at the Dolphins, so unless they're offering him more money or centre I don't see any reason for him to leave.

I dont really take notice of anything Kevvie says... it's just cliche one liners of what he thinks the fans / media want to hear.

And then he'll throw in a self-deprecating joke to lighten things up

I agree with you but in regards to contracts and such, it's not his job to reveal whether or not a player is on the way out, that would be poor from him actually

Nothing wrong with him actually saying that either. All Kevvie needs to say is, ‘Sorry guys that isn’t my role, please ask Benny or Dave about that. I would obviously love to keep him as I would all our players.’ If they keep pressing, just say, ‘Sorry guys, I just told you, I really don’t know. Otherwise all good? K, thanks all.’

I can just imagine the Courier Fail article the next day...

"BRONCOS COACH KEPT IN THE DARK REGARDING SQUAD"

"Broncos coach Kevin Walters has revealed in a recent interview that he has no idea of who is staying and going in the squad.

Recent rumours regarding several off contract stars has prompted questions from the media regarding certain players futures at Red Hill. When pressed on the matter, Walters suggested that he has no say in which players are staying on. "Sorry guys, I really don't know".

This then begs the question, is Kevvies future safe at the Broncos? Are club hierarchy planning a future without Walters? Why would the club keep him in the dark regarding the playing squad if they were 100% committed to him as the head coach?

Sources have revealed exclusively to this publication that there are several coaching options currently without a first grade coaching gig that would jump at an opportunity to turn around the once powerhouse club. Walters has largely failed to turn around the Broncos during his tenure only managing a 41% win rate.

I'm pretty sure Kevin and Benny would decide who they want or need in the team. It's ridiculous to think otherwise.

But this is where the cliches and jokes come into it... he has to front up to a mandatory media scrum every week.

Media will have blown their load on some rumour through the week and Kevvie will get asked "there's murmurs Tesi might be on his way out... is there any more to it Kev"

At which point he'll respond to with something like "I'm not sure about all that, but all I know is Tesi is here right now and we want to keep him for as long as possible because he's a fantastic player and you've all seen what he's capable of.... but Reyno is the real head coach around here and has more say about who he wants to play with so next time I see him I'll ask about what's happening with Tesi"
