2023 State of Origin Discussion

If Munster was out, Ponga comes straight into 6, the fact nobody mentioned that is a bit concerning.

Ponga's concussion problems would be a real worry.

he can barely get through a game at 6 at club level without getting knocked out, it would be worse in Origin.

too much of a liability

Hopefully Brimson gets an extended run in the halves at the Titans at some point, he could be an option.

I've provided screenshots that show his leg is straight. If your leg is straight, your studs are going to be up.

There's footage on the NRL on Nine YouTube page that show a better angle which shows his leg is straight and studs are up.

It also has audio from Tyson Frizell saying "he hit me square in the chest". Because the first point of contact is the chest.

Whaaa ? Studs up hit him in the chest ?
I said that a week ago and was told I was wrong , with screen shots to show me how wrong I was . So now I`m right ????

Milford would have to be the definition of unpickable these days.

Other than your obvious bias against...how so?

Currently playing himself back into form
Has SOO experience
Has probably the better kicking game out of all the other possibles you've mentioned.
With a strong playing roster around him like QLD would provide......
Milf would go alright.

Well yes....there's that reality.

I thought we were talking hypotheticals?

He's a long way off from being the definition of being "unpickable"

He's a pea heart, goes missing when the tough stuff is required.

No, now it’s both you and super freak that are wrong.

This studs up / studs down argument is super easy to resolve.

Walsh plays for both QLD and The Broncos ... if there was even a remote chance to force him to sit out games, then the MRC and judiciary wouldn't hesitate to do it.

Therefore the studs must have been down.

I mean you should know about bias here, you defend him relentlessly despite all the evidence to the contrary but in any case, here are the reasons:
- Has origin experience yes and was found wanting in his very few opportunities
- Is unfit and has been for a long time
- Goes missing regularly
- Follows up a rare good game with several awful ones
- Has lost all his pace
- Has shown nothing but career regression since mid-2016, that’s 7 years
- Is the fourth choice half at his current club
- Has no desire or competitive edge anymore
- Has become a cheap shot merchant
- Makes defensive mistakes regularly
- Does not ever display the resolve the QLD team is renowned for

In fact the only positive he has these days is he has a decent boot.

Fixed it for you.......

There's a huge amount of conjecture amongst all of that.

I’m not against an evidenced based rebuttal, in fact I enjoy it, so please feel free o prove any of those points wrong.

If he's unfit.......then I must be a corpse.

You should wish you were that unfit.......

Brimson isn't a half, he is alot better then Campbell as one but he is still definitely a Fullback.

Running fullbacks are more of a 1 to 5 type player, Ball playing fullbacks like Walsh and Ponga can suit the halves if they get used to being in the defensive line, because they have the passing skills and have a kicking game.
