2023 State of Origin - Game II Discussion

So funny. In a text message convo last night with a friend .. typed in the letters "nsw" .. the next word prompt came up as 'grubs' lol

And this morning on laptop .. also typed in 'nsw' .. and google predicted that I was next gonna type the word 'grubs' lmaoooo.

So if you are picking the Australian side at this point, you are probably going something like:

1. Walsh
2. Taulagi
3. Mitchell
4. Hammer
5. Cobbo
6. Munster
7. DCE
8. Haas
9. Hunt
10. Tino
11. Fifita
12. Martin
13. Carrigan

14. Grant
15. Collins
16. Cotter
17. Murray

No NSWelshmen please. They probably don't get international footy as well as Origin.

Billy gets Origin. His comments on Carrigan, Cotter and Collins just show this. He wants them for what they do off the ball as much as with it. NSW don't do that. I don't think they have a single player who comes up with big Origin moments in that team. I wouldn't want a single one of them in a QLD jersey.

They used to. But something has crept into the group. Teddy is shadow of himself and looks slow. Yeo is struggling in attack (probably because lack of fringe support). Luai is too worried about being a daddy and being a WWE showman.

The hard toilers like Martin, Haas and Murray were on their own.

Even their best players last night aren't game changers in Origin. They don't have the big Origin moments and I think your right, it's something in this group.

Luai is the best thing to happen in Origin since Benny Elias. Origin needs villians and NSW had got bland.
There is a fine line between villain and deadshit.
Luai is a deadshit.

The NSW villains of the bygone era were still good footballers who backed up their shit talk with good performances (Gallen, Greg Bird etc).

Luai has been shit this whole series and gets picked because of Brandy.

I also reckon a ton of NSW supporters hate Luai just as much as we do.

Somebody said it earlier, but I dont think Payne likes playing against his Broncos mates. He reminds me of how Bellamy was when he coached against his players in Origin. Watching the replay, Every time there was a scuffle, Payne seemed to be looking around to make sure he wasn't going to run into any Broncos. You compare that with our boys they all just steam in.

There's villains, but shouldn't it be from one side instead of universal.

Walsh is effectively becoming a villain to NSW, but he is quickly becoming adored by the Qld public.

Luai on the other hand appears to be a villain even to his own fans... it's pretty much just Panthers fans that support him at this stage
