Yep, that's about the size of it.I know a guy who's a geologist...kind of part time? It's a long story but he used to do it full time and would get jobs in PNG for a set period of time. Some of the stories he tells are real eye openers. Life was basically meaningless in some of the areas that he worked.
The question is were you a professional rugby league player when you were living there.
These guys are going to be treated by the PNG public, like the Indians treat their cricketers ... i.e. like gods.
I have zero doubt that they'll be perfectly safe over there. Besides the reporting is that they'll be developing a fully secure compound for the team / staffers to live ... and you can bet your bottom dollar, this compound will be a combination of a regular town and a 5 star resort, they'll have all the amenities they could ever need

I'm curious - are you basing your comments on experience from living/working in PNG or countries similar to it?
