2026 NRL General Discussion Thread

Brent Naden is a dumb shit.

Uploaded this to TikTok, then deleted it.

Tigers players were doing this to Bulldogs fans yesterday. The khwad gesture is the equivalent to the middle finger and seen as an offensive gesture in the Arabic community.

I get doing it during a game, fans give it to players, players give it back, but uploading it to social media is just dumb.

Integrity Unit are currently investigating the Tigers over the gestures made during the game.

Just wanted to hop on and send some positive wishes to Herbie, looks like the phins could go the big dance this year and blowing your hammy at this point .. he must be gutted. I guess I'm posting this under the "once a Bronc always a Bronc" heading .. got some good memories of him in the maroon and gold and wish him well.
Ha ha dude there is no way the Dolphins are going to the grand final this year, with or without Herbie lol

Can someone tell me if im just being a The hater, but why are they getting so much praise for not taking the 2 late on (2mins left with a sinbin) and for "going for the try?" Its easy in hindsight to say this because they scored of course..

It was 35m out, 10m in, not an easy kick but they do have 1 of the comps best kickers. If he thought he could get that, surely they take it right? To go to ET?

Or do people actually think they turned down a solid chance at 18-18 to score the try?

Genuinely curious because I think if they were confident of scoring the penalty goal they take it every day...

You can see them looking over at Isaako after receiving the penalty and then they kick for touch so they obviously received some signal from Isaako.

With the time remaining I thought they mightve been planning a 2pt field goal.

Kick for touch and then have Isaako or whoever setup at the 40m ready to take the 2pt shot.

It was definitely a hard kick though... Isaako has a big boot, but it was no guarantee that he would get it

He was injured. You could see after he scored the try he wasn't happy. Had his head in his hands. He didn't take the kick for goal for the try either. That's probably why.

Isaako reportedly had a groin injury as well which is why Katoa took the final conversion.

Good on them though. Fans were critical of the Warriors and Titans for not taking the two, but I think you have to back yourself in that situation.

So apparently NRL has admitted they got the penalty try wrong in Titans vs Riff and Badger is likely to get a spell as a result. Chucked 360 on to see what was said about the trainer and the above was mentioned.

Couple of good outcomes for Penrith out of that game 🙃

If he was injured it makes sense. I just fail to see any circumstance where if the kick was a lets say 60% chance they turn it down with 2 mins left and a man down, thats all. You'd kick the goal and take it to ET. They scored, so its irrelevant, was just curious.

I can see this causing dramas too with morons like Butler and Badger about. There will be a tiny clip on some guys ear and one of these idiots will give a penalty try in a big final. Just watch.

The fact that those two are probably going to be in the bunker for finals games is a disaster waiting to happen. Adam Gee and Grant Atkins are the only other 2 that I can remember doing the bunker lately. Atkins is the 2nd rated ref atm I believe so what are they going to dust Gerry off for the bunker? Surely they cannot have Badger doing it.

Cool so Badger can now ruin NRLW games?

Can the NRL please explain how dropping Badger for a week again helps anyone? Surely at a certain point there at least has to be some sort of training she has to go through before coming back.

Dude, think of the optics. Everyone knows she's terrible but she can't be properly sacked / dropped for...optics reasons.

Who's to say she isn't getting further training.
Not sure if it will do any good though because that Sami decision is almost impossible to **** up.
