Q-CUP 2026 Queensland Cup Discussion

Dolphins NRLQ 28 def. Broncos NRLQ 18
Redcliffe 28 def. Sunshine Coast 14
Norths 20 def. Northern 14
Central Queensland 54 def. Tweed Heads 24

A good Saturday for the Peninsula.

In a couple of hours we have WM Seagulls in action against the high flying Jets. It's an important game for the Seagulls who just dropped out of the 8 following the Capras big win over night.

This is the type of game I'd like to see Bukowski step up. Seagulls need to force the game into the grind and use their forwards to put the Jets off. If they can win the territory and win the physical contest they could give themselves a chance.

Any word on what's happening with Ben Farr @1910? Hasn't played in six weeks, they've really missed his presence on the field.

Anderson replacing him today.

Anderson 50m kick return first kick to him and Verhoeven nice pass for a try.

Great first 10 minutes.

Yeah not sure the defense is offering much resistance but Verhoeven is carving up that left side.

Verhoeven nice run and pass.

Tuilekutu with three first half tries outside Verhoeven. Been great centre play.

Anderson completely changed the complexion of the game. Just the type of player who makes everyone around him look better and he had that left edge humming.

Happy to see Verhoeven back on his preferred side and springing off defenders with his fend.

Agreed, I made the observation after week one, Anderson makes Wynnum much better- he could be the difference between winning a final and losing if they get him for one or two weeks.

NRLQ 6-4 at half time and Broncos let the Dolphins score a 60m try minute into the second half- that's my biggest disappointment.

Biggest tick was Francis try- not him forcing his way over but the ruck before he took a hit up and passed beautifully for Ford to make 15m then reloads and makes his own run at the line to score.

Broncos defence was just terrible, Dolphins should have won by more than 10. Too many players just falling off tackles. Dolphins gave them a huge number of chances.

Francis made 32 tackles.

The Hunters situation has reached a critical situation- 64-16 yesterday backing up 54-0 from the week before.

Blackhawks average set 54m
Hunters average set 35m

I have never seen that huge a gap.
