Seems official? We keep Bradshaw. Carlton got boned hardcore lol!

I dont really see Bradshaw, Fevola and Brown all working up front. Might see Bradshaw drop to defend.

wtf?? How can they keep last years team plus 700 000 dollar a year fev under the salary cap?

Bradshaw is a veteran player, half his pay is exempt.

That means that they can slide Fevola in, with some of his pay still coming from the Blues (I'm assuming)

If he has no further money coming from the Blues, perhaps a Third party could be involved...

Daniel Bradshaw is the only reason I'll ever watch a game of AFL football. The guy is so consistent and a true champion on and off the field. He will never let you down.

I REALLY hope he stays.

Before he was put up for trade, the day before he signed a two-year extension, but perhaps that has gone by the wayside now that he was considered to move clubs.

It would be nice for the Lions for him to remain with the club.

Did you ever play Lachy?

If so, what was your position?

I picture you as a defender.

Brownie was on NOVA this morning saying that Bradshaw is really keen on going back home to Melbourne. So maybe he is still going to be traded today for a midfielder..?

Played a couple of games in High School, mostly as a defender, yeah.. 6'4" at 16.. pretty scary for a small forward.

FYI - Brisbane Lions are reported by Fox Sports to be picking up all of Fevola's contract.

wowser.

In other news, Fevola will front the media this afternoon from Wet 'n' Wild. Which describes his past few weeks.

AFL star Brendan Fevola has been accused of sexually assaulting a female Herald Sun journalist at the Brownlow Medal count.

Fevola - who was traded by Carlton to the Brisbane Lions today -is alleged to have assaulted the journalist during a boozy rampage at Crown Casino.

3AW radio presenter Neil Mitchell today aired details of the September 21 assault by the 2009 Coleman medallist.

Mitchell reported several sources had told him Fevola harassed and intimidated the Herald Sun reporter on Brownlow night.

"I have been told by several sources that he followed her (to) the toilets at Crown (and) physically intimidated her,” Mitchell said.

"One of the reports says … (he was) sort of grabbing at her.

"It was certainly of a sexual nature."

Go the Lions, Brisbane Lions, we'll kick the winning score, you'll hear a mighty roar!

Proud day in the club's history.

I hope, for Brendon's sake that he can turn this around.

He's a brilliant player, and he's knows that he is. But he needs to get his shit together, otherwise he could find himself working for Nova.

No different than the Broncos Coxy IMO.

However, Lions are a club that prides itself on rehabilitating players who don't have the best record off-field. I hope they do and Fevola sorts his shit out cause he's one of the best, if not the best forward in the game.

No doubt.

I just can't help but agree with Barry Dick. He said that if the Broncos recruited Willie Mason (who bears a passing resemblance to Mr Fevola) there'd be mass outrage that the Broncos would recruit such an idiot.

Yet people are praising the "coup" of signing Fevola?

Good player or not, the Lions are taking a risk bringing someone of this shady character to their club.

I think the Lions have taken the chance feeling that they can "fix" him.

His on field persona is almost impecable. Rarely been to the Tribunal regarding any incidents on-field, but off-field the Lions front-office know is what they need to amend.

The whole Mason argument is a bit different I think. If Ivan Henjak recruited Willie Mason, I don't think people would be as quick to chop up their memberships as Lion's fan were threatening to do this week.

Mason is a grub, and remains a grub, but his demonic and stale persona is on AND off field.. so, the only help he needs is on a couch.

Fevola has been critisied during his early day of having very poor on field persona, and not being a hard-ball getter like Carlton are so well known for.

Since Denis Pagan was at Carlton though, he changed dramatically and is much much more involved with the speed on the ball and also in around the rucks quite a bit.

Mason however, is just poor on all counts.. always has been, and no coach has been able to fix that.

In the end, both of them have their faults, but Fevola is less of a burden I'd think..

Interesting. Fair enough too. Ultimately this comes down to the perception the public have of the individual, more so than the coaching staff.

I think those threatening to chop up their Lions membership are being melodramatic and when push comes to shove, they won't.

But it is and should be a concern for Lions management if this really is an unpopular decision, particularly with GC17 coming in 2011.

That's the most pathetic and fairweather thing I've ever heard. It's about membership to a club you supposedly "love". Ditching a club membership because of one player who helps make up a team is disgusting.

I dunno. You love a club for a lot of different reasons, one of which is the culture of the club and its players, and the esteem with which you hold it.

You may see the signature of a loose cannon like Fevola as impacting that very aura you have about your club.

Yes it's over the top, but I can understand it.

Good post. I can see the logic in your points.

Very over-the-top and vomit inducing reaction from such "fans" though. They need to take a good look at themselves.

If they're going to go cry to their mummies over this, well the Brisbane club is better off without them.
