Well we had $349,852 worth of disclosed TPAs at the end of 2019 (probably due to lack of any real commercial star power at the broncos in a while).

I'm sure the whole season suspension and covid sitatuion has muddied the waters quite a lot here as far as what sponsors are willing to pay and may challenge contracts etc. Not to mention the advertising power of stars in a bubble is likely significantly impaired if they cannot record ads or attend events etc.

Hopefully will be nothing more than a sponsor disputing paying for no return on investment.

I would have loved to haved conducted that `interview'. Hooper is hopeless and his questioning technique is pathetic.

I get the sense they are scripted and only allowed to ask certain questions...

Hoops is an employee of Fox as is Kent. Badel is an employee of News Ltd, which owns the Broncos... News Ltd also happens to own Fox...

Is it any wonder ‘hard’ questions aren’t asked at ‘pressers’?

What is your evidence officer? I mean your evidence proving he was 'shopping himself around'. His repeated onfield indiscretions only seem to gain significance AFTER the covid thing. More honoured in the breach than the observance. Nobody was saying ' sack him sack him ' for his repeated indiscretions, indiscretions that almost universally on this forum were seen as classic over reaction and bronco bashing. Oh, by the way, he isn't the worst offender, just the guy unfairly targeted by officials.

Incorrect sir. Many have bagged him and rightly so over his idiotic actions on field and off it. His shot (gaining a 4 weeks suspension) during the Cows game in round 1 this year well before the ‘COVID thing’ is a perfect example.

My evidence on him ‘shopping himself around’? It’s a circumstantial brief your honour, but it is with merit. It was reported he rang the Bulldogs and the Roosters - specifically Politis. He denied it. Politis came out and admitted the call occurred, he then stated (on Instagram no less) that he rang Politis to ‘give him shit’ about Politis off-loading his Broncos shares...

Then he does his formal interview and admits he ‘rang Politis for advice’...

Well Mr Huge, which story do you want to believe? That he didn‘t shop himself around, ringing the Roosters and the Dogs? That okay, well maybe he did ring the Roosters, but only to give Politis shit? Or that, okay, well maybe he did ring Politis and it wasn’t just to give him shit, but all he did was ask for career advice...

And yes, he did breach the NRL COVID rules, which was widely reported. And yes, okay he did breach on a further 5 occasions which were not reported, but the NRL may / may not have been aware of...

I am no defence lawyer, I’m sure Lynx could better advise on that point, but one defence strategy I am intimately familiar with, is shutting the f*ck up. Rarely does anyone believe anyone else, whose story changes, by their own admission, on multiple occasions...

I’ve lightened up on TPJ. Sure it was dumb and selfish. But the guy is 25 and not very bright,. NRL players are in this incredibly strict bubble which must be tough. On top of that his team has no chance of making the finals, are barely a chance of winning a game again this season, and his coach is an absolute poser who’s turned the club into a horrific garbage fire.

He shouldn’t have broken the bubble rules but imagine having to deal with all this shit and not even be able to get a hair cut. The motivation to follow the rules strictly must be low for the boys.

Keep TPJ on a final warning and **** off Seibold,

Lockyer saying “it’s not all Tacitus fault” or whatever the quote was is damning, and as average as Lockyer has been at his job, I doubt he publicly backs a player in this situation if there isn’t more to the story.

it originally bothered me that he shopped himself around too, but who would want to work under the incompetent dickhead who has the keys to the club. If your boss was a useless prick who impacted your ability to work successfully you’d be looking at other companies too.

I’m not bagging TPJ either, his current predicament is entirely his own fault. He could have abided by NRL COVID rules as everyone else in the NRL officially is and he wouldn’t be in this position.

But I also don’t blame the club for drawing a line in the sand either. How much more stupid sh*t can we afford to tolerate?

I don't think there's anything wrong with your view and I understand it. I am just an optimist by nature and love redemption stories. I get he's fucked up badly.

I read they issued the second notice because the first didn’t refer to Covid protocols that it should have.
Yes. I am just suggesting you wouldn't issue a second notice if you were wanting to keep him. The management of this club is hopeless. They can't even get the basics right

Have I missed something? Just read in the smh that the NRL is now investigating TPJ and 3rd party deals, and he fronts the NRL Integrity Unit on Monday "to discuss missing payments that have infuriated him and have the potential to cause problems for all those connected to his deal."? News to me. Anyone?

Strange. I am hoping this will be nothing to do with the Broncos and more to do about a certain manager who the game needs to get rid of completely.
This sounds similar to this from last year but obviously being the Roosters automatically gets a protective spin put on it, from the media.

Thanks for that. Appreciated. I'll do some research

Remember when our dramas were only stuff like this

Code:
Gagai was sacked from Brisbane in 2012 just six weeks after he’d signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The then 22-year-old from Mackay was cut loose by Broncos coach Anthony Griffin due to a series of minor disciplinary breaches like missing training and failing to reach weight targets.

Good analysis, whatever he is selling I would not be buying it. Not only that he consulted Politis (the Chairman of a major competitor) but he consulted him for advice about how to fix the Broncos. If anyone believes that I have several lovely bridges you might be interested in.

Anyone know what’s going on with TPJ and the integrity unit over dodgey third party agreements?

sounds like he’s snitching on the club for promising him they’d rort the cap and then not actually paying him the dirty money.

If true, it will just add a further layer to this shit show of a season, a salary cap scandal as we plummet to the depths. Have we become the Eels of a few years back?

Are third party deals handled by the club though ?[emoji848]

Forgive my ignorance but i thought it was up to the player and his management to source and look after those deals ?
