Allegations against Bulldogs

"Attrocious" Mad Monday - good luck to Rothfield and co finding a story for the next 6 months until footy season kicks off again.

MM is so tame these days. Christ they tried to limit the damage by having it in-house at Belmore, locked in without access to the media.

What more could they do?

It is if they sent a female reporter on purpose to see what reaction they might get from a group of drunken players. Not saying it is ok but they really could have sent a male reporter.

Or not sent anyone at all.

MM is for the playing group. They make a number of sacrifices throughout the season in a pressurised environment and make themselves publically available to the media throughout. MM is a chance to let some steam off before the group breaks up (sometimes forever).

I'd like Channel Nine to give the public access to and report on its Christmas Party. Hell, Carl Stefanovic makes a big enough drunken dick of himself at the logies each year and makes degrading comments about women ("you've got the greatest arse I've ever seen")

LOL.

The old "zomg if they weren't footballers nobody would be filming it" crap argument.

They're grand final runners up. Gotta expect to be filmed. Gotta behave. Don't like it? Do it behind ACTUAL closed doors.

Pathetic that people want to make excuses for these douchebags.

Didn't those comments only come after they decided to open the window themselves?

Weren't they behind closed doors? At a private function?

They were at Belmore Sports Ground.

They were filmed outside of the 'closed doors' as well, sitting down drinking beers.

Drunk males in their mid-20's being sexist and acting like douchebags? Get the **** out!!!

The media went filming looking for a story like this to run and they got it. Not condoning their actions but what did the media expect?

And sending a good-looking female reporter who usually reports from the court was CLEARLY asking for trouble!

Why the **** should they expect to be abused.

I'm 26, I was shit faced last night. I didn't abuse ANYONE.

The only pathetic thing here is the media. They're trying so hard to trash the Bulldogs image and I think it's a disgrace.

Not sure if serious?? The media has a right to report what happened. Did the Bulldogs player really expect that telling a reporter to suck them off was acceptable?

First off. I think the article I read by Dean Ritchie was pathetic, namely because of how he attacked the club for closing their doors to the media after the GF loss. I don't care what the rule is they have every right to be gutted and every right to be so in private. I have no issue with that and the way Ritchie links that incident to the next one is a joke.

Onto the players behaving badly, in a way I feel sorry for them because they are young men blowing off steam and the club should have done a far better job hiding their in house mad monday from pretty pathetic prying eyes. That doesn't excuse the behaviour we did see but honestly leave the blokes alone they are doing their own private mad Monday and the reporters who copped a spray got exactly what they had coming to them (which I am sure they are ecstatic about as it made a story) I think the club rather than the players is most to blame for this being blown out of proportion.

I think the players trashed the Bulldogs image themselves without the media helping them.

Part of the Licence to be a part of the NRL is media to have access to dressing rooms etc.

After one of our GF wins, the Broncos asked the media not go into their sheds for about 30 mins so players, families etc could celebrate in private.

The media obliged .

Bulldogs could have asked the media to wait for 30 mins etc, before going into the dressing rooms.

As I said I don't care what the "rules" say. In that type of situation they should have every right to tell the media to piss off, they are devastated after being the best team all year quite clearly how about we let them have their private sulk and let them talk to the media in due time.
