I actually liked the 60mins piece.

I never watch it, and hadn’t intended to as I thought it’d be a hack job, but I tend to agree with it.

I’ve never been a fan of Erin Molan either, I’d best describe my view of her as indifferent. But after watching that I have a whole lot of respect for her and her resolute view around cyber bullying.

Some of the shit people say and do behind the safety of a keyboard is fucking despicable and needs to stop. So for trying to take a stand against it, I admire both Seibold and Molan.

According to an article in the terror, she "put on on accent as she said 'hooka looka mooka hooka fooka' during a discussion about how to pronounce players' names before a game on Saturday's 'Continuous Call' football show on 2GB."

That's a rough situation in your case for all parties. I'm not sure how analogous it is to Molan's though, she made some pretty off comments, copped flack for it, sued the Daily Telegraph for reporting them then went on one of our gutter "journalism" shows to complain about how fucked it is when anyone can say anything about anyone online. It's true but at the same time it just sits poorly with me.

I agree with you that it appears that her comments were poor and deserved calling out. I guess the difference is between someone appropriately criticising her actions as opposed to someone threatening her and her child or hoping that the child is stillborn and she dies in giving birth. That type of vitriolic rubbish gives her a right to comment and have a platform in my view.

I can agree with this too.

It’s cliche, but two wrongs don’t make a right.

Still, what has been said to Molan (as @lynx000 mentioned above) just makes you fear for humankind.

When some of the worlds most disgusting and immoral people are provided an open, untethered and unvetted forum to say whatever they wish without consequence, it’s scary to think what might happen.
 
Everyone has known since the invention of media that if you chose a career in the public eye that you will cop it, and everyone knows that social media has only made it worse. If you can’t handle the trolls than don’t chase the fame. Obviously there is a line when you start to fear for your actual safety but I don’t feel sorry for people in the public eye who boo hoo about people saying nasty things.
