Benny took us to finals footy too, and in hindsight that was despite the board and administration. Same applies now, I trust Kevvie but not the powerbrokers in the back office.

I'm certainly of the opinion that under Bennett we'd stopped going forward, but without him it seems he was one of the few things stopping us going dramatically backwards.

I still think this is crap. He was introducing a lot of the new young players. We had to go backwards before we could go forward when bringing those players in because those players were learning. Certain older players were going backwards but they were on their way out, probably earlier with Bennett at the helm. He’s taken a far worse Rabbitohs team to the exact place Seibold did, almost making them look better in certain areas and adding to certain players games.

The board worked very hard to get the power off Bennett. They aren’t going to give it up easily. Hence why I don’t believe they’re going to bring someone like Donaghy in and let him change things up. Paul White will probably leave when they announce a new Brisbane team, now that he’s weakened us. There’s a reason he’s still running the club from the shadows and hasn’t taken a job elsewhere. Either nobody wants him or he’s got a job that doesn’t exist yet that he’s been planning for while now.

There’s simply no way they could unintentionally **** things up this badly.

I am now on that boat as well.
I admit I thought our retrocess was more due to Bennett than anything else, especially after our stellar 2015, which I still believe had Walters fingerprints.
I still believe he had a large contribution due to his choices, especially with our spine, but on the other hand, I'm sure he would knocked down quite a few heads that really needed it, and we wouldn't have had the spoon. I also am certain we wouldn't have made a dent in the finals, even if we got there.

I guess we'll see going forward whether the board is that inept or whether 2020 was just Seibold's complete inability to instil work ethic, humility, camaraderie, sacrifice and team work in a team where youthful players were completely full of themselves...

It is just amateur hour everywhere. How hard is it to update a website page when something actually happens?

It doesn't really interest me, and perhaps is for another thread, but some of the fan content the club produces (when they can actually be bother to produce any) is extremely lacklustre.

Honestly, you could ask a third year media/communication uni student to do it for free for their portfolio/experience, and they'd produce something of a higher quality.

Amateur hour is spot on, Sproj. Compare the crap we put out to sports clubs from around the world and it's like we're living 20 years behind the times.

Where are the interesting documentaries about pre-season training? Interesting interviews with the players? Anything? It's boring as shit and this is the club with one of the biggest budgets. Tigers, Newcastle, Penrith, Melbourne, Raiders all do a far better job to produce content, and that's just going off memory.

Biggest supporter base in the league and Paul White does nothing with it.
