Ashes 2015 Series in-game thread

In entrusted my self esteem to this fucking cricket team.
the Broncos better beat the dogs or I'm off a cliff.

I just feel for the bowlers, have had no runs to play with.

Regardless of what happens, post this series Clarke, Haddin, Watson, Voges are gone. If Rogers doesn't retire he certainly stays. So come next test series we start fresh with:

1. Rogers/SMarsh
2. Warner
3. Smith (c)
4. Lynn
5. Burns
6. MMarsh
7. Nevill
8. Johnson/Starc
9. Pattinson/Cummins
10. Hazlewood
11. Lyon

theres your future squad unfortunately with others in and around as they get older and progress.

<150 scores for years ....

So Australia is going to need to make 800 in the second innings to even remotely be a chance to draw. All the best with that, they'll struggle to make a hundred.

Yeah, if we lose by less than an innings and 1000 runs, we'll be doing well.
Disgraceful batting in unfamiliar conditions.

Nobody's winning away from home (other than SA, who lose at home to make up for it), but nobody except us is collapsing like this.

Kaz, why the hate for Clarke? I would have agreed with you at the start of his career, but I thought he matured pretty well.

Time for sweeping changes after this series.

Too many players just seem comfortable with their spots and need a kick in the arse.

Clarke needs to go and Smith handed the top job. Haddin goes for neville, and Voges,Rogers and Sean Marsh can all piss off as well !!

IMO: He only cares about himself.

Also, I don't mind a bit of sledging, but the Australian go overboard.

I do like Steve Smith, so fingers crossed when Clarke finally retires he is the next captain.

Nothing is going to change for a long while. The problems are ingrained in the way batsmen come through the system and then play shield cricket on flat and fast tracks. Day 1 was the worst day of test cricket by an Australian team ever. Ever since the Haddin axing was official in the 3rd test they've played like they don't want to be there.

You are a typical Imbecile. Who cares if you hate Clarke. Wanting Australia to lose because of it is insane and idiotic.

I don't get the Rogers hate. He has been pretty much the only bloke who has made runs consistently on tour here. The batting performance last night was inept and had a 20/20 feeling to it. Do the players not realise you can leave the ball in test match as you certainly don't run short of overs to score from. The first couple of hours was always going to be tricky but once you go set like Root did, you were fine. I also don't get why we persist with Johnson & Starc in the same side. One left quickie is good to have but if they see the same style of bowler over and over again they get their eye in eventually. The need a right arm quickie to compliment the bowling attack.

Fair enough, I can see where you'd get that from. I think it was definitely true at the start of his career, and possibly still true (see Katich and Hussey), although I don't think so.

Rogers has the second most runs of the series with 385 (av 64) from 4 Tests and retired hurt in an innings so it would be even more.

Wholesale changes won't work; because this is our best 11 give or take a few sometimes.

sweeping changes would be a good move if we had any new faces worth sweeping in... the review at the end of this disastrous series needs to go a hell of a lot further.. The last few years have been littered with some of the most horrendously pathetic batting catastrophes this country has seen.

Why is our long form batting so ridiculously atrocious (as Shaun Marsh edges straight to slip) and why is ( as steve smith pushes one straight to gully) Australia now completely bereft of any long form batsmen worth even the most minute pinch of shit.

To say I'm disgusted and completely disillusioned with this team and our country's cricket at the moment is a fucking colossal understatement. This shit is so painful to see. Quite frankly I'm not really interested in getting too emotionally invested anymore until I see some evidence of effort in trying to address these serious problems
