Why lunch ? Stupid rules
So out of touch with the present day.
Why lunch ? Stupid rules
I think a 40min lunch is the thing I hate the most about test cricket hahaStill, I’m a long form tragic. I wouldn’t change much tbh. I love it all, even the quirks. Weather rules need to change.

The cricket show or whatever it was called back when Ch 9 had the rights was unwatchable... and Foxtel's attempt is just as bad.
40mins has never felt so long

Turn it off.
Watch through the lens of a hopeful kid. Learning this from Warnie is actually fascinating, and have heard it 100 times.
I think he still goes to Asia because they will want the opportunity to play two spinners and he can be a third seamer.
If not they would be relying on Head's offies and Marnus' part time leggies, which is risky against good players of spin.
In regards to batting position I think 6 is an odd spot... you need to be a batter that can come out and hammer it for a quick fire 50 or higher as a match changing innings, but also put together partnerships with the tail. It probably lends itself to needing a more experienced campaigner that can run through the gears a little bit or a reliable wicketkeeper batsmen that can do one of those jobs.
Green doesn't yet look like he knows how he wants to bat down at 6... I think he just wants to bat time at the crease, but it's not resulting in runs, which heaps more pressure on him. He might actually be more comfortable coming in when the score is 2 or 3 down, because most of the time you're required to be defensive and accumulate your runs in those situations.
I think he bats 4-5 in shield ( Sproj ??) and probably would be better for him, but his form has been far too poor to make that move in the near future... and Head would actually suit 6 better I think, because his lapses in concentration seemingly aren't allowing long long innings at 5, even his 150 mostly happened in a session.
I think batting at 7 could help him by lowering the pressure and expectations required, but is Carey reliable enough to bat in the top 6... probably not.
I'm not really sure what the answer is really, but I think it's better if he's in and around the test team and getting ongoing coaching.
This is the thing with giving a bowler the captaincy.Cummins is giving himself too many overs here for my liking.
Maybe I'm in the minority but I don't believe moving Green up the order is the solution. I would be seriously worried if he strolled to the wicket at 3/35.
If we're going to drop him and give him time to work on his technique, we need to abort the idea of having an all-rounder at 6. Purely because there are no other all-rounders close to his level and we already know the other guy they will look at isn't good enough.
Someone like Street could come in for Harris, with Head batting at 6. Might not be the worst idea for the sub-continent where we usually struggle with the bat anyway.
Never looked at his numbers, others had mentioned him on the previous page. I don't really care if it's him, it was just an example reference because people on here get antsy when you don't provide an alternative.Street can't come in when you have never averaged out of the 30's and your best year is 489 runs.
I get what you mean but the idea is giving him a more comfortable position to bat to achieve what he wants to achieve. What he wants is a big mother fucken innings. Daddy hundreds. Travis isn’t in that basket he is quick runs and quick hundreds and that’s where his success is coming at the moment. Cameron usually comes in and starts his innings alongside Carey. No offence to Carey but that’s not very promising that you have the opportunity to make a mark other than a 50 and that’s if Carey and Starc hang around. I know he isn’t even making 50’s but that’s not what Green has set his sights on if that makes sense. Yes there is slight technical issues but I think it’s mostly a mindset issue with batting 6. It just doesn’t suit him. If he can fix his defence and have good awareness on his off stump.Maybe I'm in the minority but I don't believe moving Green up the order is the solution. I would be seriously worried if he strolled to the wicket at 3/35.
