Ash plays tomorrow. Souths Magpies vs North Devils.
Theyre both on the same rung on the ladder but Souths have a better for and against.
The next round should be interesting where Souths are up against the Jets so we can see Parcell and Taylor in the same game (assuming Ash is playing - I hope so).

Two wins in a row for the Magpies, Taylor was really good. His kicking game just kept driving them back and Norths didn't know how to combat Taylor's attacking kicks.

Kick for Trnka was great and Souths will be hoping he stays for longer.

i went out to davies park today and caught the souths v norths clash.

I agree 100% with 1910, taylors kicking game was excellent, and he caused a few headaches on the left with some sharp quick passing. Everyone knows that kicking and passing are his big strengths, so I was hoping though that he would really play more to the line and a bit more direct but that didn't happen. He does play a little deep still for mine, so I hope over the next period while he is still in cup he starts to square up,play a bit flatter and push through to bring his edge players up more. Also norths were horrible too and placed no pressure on taylor so he did as he pleased. Be interesting to see how he goes against a better team.

On a separate, michael molo made his debut in cup today. he was solid without being brilliant and didnt look out of place. I also caught a look at greinke for the first time this year. He looked heavy legged and will struggle to go any further than cup.

It'll depend on how the 20's are going, if they're going well minus Taylor he will stay with Souths. Broncos don't like losing.

Great kick placement. For Souths to win let alone flog someone is quite a turn around in their fortunes. 2 wins in a row now and note how long Taylor has been playing with them.

Next week will be one of their biggest challenges yet against the Jets. (I'm hoping Parcell will get the call up to NRL next week though).

Those kicks from Taylor already look better than any bomb that Hunt puts up. I can't even remember the last time a Hunt bomb was contested because they aren't given enough air.

Also, that kick for the second try is everything Hunt tried to do against the Cowboys but couldn't.

Well.....Taylor is playing in a competition that's a notch or 3 down from the NRL. I'm sure we could find clips of Luke Capewell's kicking that makes him look pretty special as well.

We know that isn't the case.

We know that isn't the case.

I think kicking skills are independent of "a notch or 3 down from the NRL" save for the initial learning curve to handle the extra speed and pressure of NRL.

What concerns me until I see him play NRL is how he handles decision making and then what he does when he decides that counts, and of course his defence which is, for me, unlike kicking, a real and much longer test of how he handles the top level.

But then the question remains: when does he get to play NRL for long enough to make such assessments? In any case, it's great to watch real talent on show, whatever the grade.

Your under estimating the influences of time and pressure. When you have time and little pressure (AKA QCup) ......it's easier to make the right decision/kick.

To say Taylor would be kicking better than Hunt in the NRL, based on what he's (Taylor) doing now in QCup, isn't a fair comparison.

It is always insightful when people state lower grades are in fact a lower standard than NRL. It's like they think they're telling everyone the world is round before anyone else.

Wish people would learn what a pathway to NRL was and maybe even watch a game.

I have watched plenty QCup......which is how I know its not at the same standard as the NRL.

...and it had to be pointed out, because someone was comparing what Taylor is doing in that competition to what Hunt is doing in the NRL, which isn't a fair comparison.

Even you with your all knowing eye should have recognised that.
