You use MOTM awards as an argument to prove Johns is better, and yet in the VERY SAME THREAD you write off Channel 9 for their practice of giving "feel good" MOTMs out...like, TO THEIR FAVOURITE PLAYER!

They had an agenda to make Johns the number one player in the world blah blah blah, and they pushed it as much as possible.

It's ridiculous to say Johns is better than Alf IMO. Even with the greatest player/playmaker of all time playing right next to him, Alfie still made a massive impact in rep footy. Joey was a fantastic player but is waaaaaay overhyped by NSW pillow biters. Just like Lockyer doesn't get SFA recognition for the champion he is from them. If he was a blue, I have no doubt that Lockyer would be known as better than Wally Lewis south of the border and held in the highest regard of players. And that's a fact.

Won more Dally M's (3) than both, won golden boots for best player in the world (obviously he did alright in rep games). Player of the Series for the Kangaroos in 01 and MVP of the 95 World Cup. He was also voted no.1 by Rugby League Week in their 30 players of the past 30 years.

And let's face it, there's been quite a few games where Johns has won MOTM when clearly there were other contenders who were just as good, or better than Johns on the night.

Coxy, I of all people know that channel 9 are a bunch of turdbags but what does me making criticism's about the recent MOTM award given out what I can see as mainly due to the guys uncle dying and Andrew John's getting many MOTM awards over his superb career. Johns definaltey dominated origin in 05'. Came back from injuries to own that series.

Forme its close, but Johns just nudges as Locky as the better play. Rocky, for you to believe that its 'silly' and a 'gee up' to even consider Johns as better than Lockyer shows how one-eyed you are!

Johns has better ball playing skills than any player in modern league history, ask any expert and even ask Wally Lewis he says the same thing. Johns had an array of weapons both passing long and short and kicking long or short that no one else has possessed.

This is all a matter of opinion, no right and wrong, but I don't know how anyone can say Johns is the clear cut superior player. I personally see Langer and Lockyer as better players but there isn't much in it. I'd much prefer Lockyer in my team than Johns as I see him as alot more dynamic and agile. I don't really want a defender in the halves anyway, that's what the pigs are for. I want someone who can pull a miracle out of their arse first, and TBH I've seen more magic from Lockyer than Johns.

It was BroncoMatt, he was replying to a thread I started about my hatred for the bias and the DEFINATE sway and effect that Channel 9 commentry (NewsLimited) has on the game/fans/judiciary process.

What he said is 100% correct and if any of you honestly don't believe that their is agenda driven people in those very positions now (and for the past 30 years) you need to wake up from your self-induced matrix. Swallow the blue pill.

Since the immortal Lewis pwned everything NSW, the Sydney boys club have struggled to create their own version of the secopnd coming. Along came Johns (argueably the greatest player of the modern era). They saw their chance to put him up and quite often referred to him as the greatest player ever. LOLZ.

Their is, always has been and unfortuantly always will be (at least for 20 years) a Sydney boys club agenda which has ruined Rugby League. Proping up Johns is just a small thing for this group, controlling (ruining) it is the main agenda.
