Australia v England Second Test Adelaide

Do you even watch cricket?
First bowler picked is Starc
This was clumsy post which I have clarified. In short, yes, I do watch Cricket, I wouldn't drop Starc, or anyone, for the sake of a pink ball specialist which is being suggested. My point was that if you were to bring in a specialist you'd have to drop Starc, as I have Hazelwood and Cummins slightly ahead on this last performance. As I said ,Clumsy post which was clear to me but no one else.
But by all means rip in keyboard warrior

Why would you drop Starc for the pink ball game when he would bend it around corners

Pink ball specialists is harsh- he's the best swing bowler in the country red or pink.

62 wickets last Shield season- third best ever. At the shabby average of 19! Over 200 wickets now for SA. 7/84 in the Shield Final.

He's put together a lot of great seasons now.

12/13- 48 @ 18 (first)
13/14- 36 @ 28 (fifth)
14/15- 12 @ 31 (only played half the season with injury)
15/16- 32 @ 27 (8th)
16/17- 62 @ 19 (first)
17/18- 14 @ 25- (three games)

It's his home ground, he swings it better than anyone and he was 12th man last Test. He deserves consideration.

He sure does, as does Bird but who would you 'rest' for one of them?

Fair call. I would see him that way if he was brought in for this test. He would be good addition to the test attack in the right conditions, but i'm not sure I'd have him ahead of the other 3. Cummins or Starc to be the next Kallis, maybe then he gets a run

Id pick Starc before Cummins and Hazelwood every day of the week. You cant beat pure speed. And Cummins isnt even consistent. Starc can clean teams up and has alot of runs on the board to prove it.

I'm wary of being too cute and changing a side that is 1-0 up and won by 10 wickets. But you do need to consider guys for conditions. If we were playing on a dust bowl we wouldn't not go with a spinner.

If Broad and Anderson swing us out for 90 or Broad gets 8/15 again the cry will be why don't we have swing. The first innings in Brisbane showed if the pitch isn't fast and bouncy which is a chance in Adelaide where it can be back breaking for nothing. Then you need to be moving it and Anderson and Broad did that much better than our attack. When it quickened up we took control.

I am not too sure who'd I take out to be honest.

Hazelwood and Starc were very good last year in Adelaide. But I thought Bird was the least effective. Against New Zealand two years ago Hazelwood was excellent.

That was a hard Test for batsmen with a highest score of 66. It was the first time since 1993 no 100's in Adelaide so things can go the bowlers way there- it was a three day Test.

Cummins was our best bowler in Brisbane with Lyon. If they do change the side it won't be because of form just suitability. Which maybe isn't a good enough reason to change a side when they're all very good bowlers.

Is there such thing as a pink ball specialist? I remember the Australia v south Africa pink ball test... Around twilight is when Australia will call on Gary and Starc

Poms have Woakes marked down as their PB specialist.

Cummins bowled faster than Starc at the 'Gabba. 153.78kph v 150.97 kph.

Don't get me wrong ,I love this current attack. I've seen spells from Starc with the swinging ball which are unplayable .
Hazelwood has been the pick in Adelaide for the PB tests, maybe because he gets just enough movement.

If we are going with changing ideas for change sake...Bancroft keeper and bring in the swing specialist?

Sayers last season at AO 40 wickets in five games.

4/82 and 2/22 v NSW under lights and 3/66 and 5/27 v NSW under lights at AO.

Cummins under lights in round one this year 2/22 and 0/71.

Starc 10/117 round one under lights.

I'd love to see Sayers get a go in the Test team. Would be nice to see someone who hoops the ball like Damien Fleming used to.
