Raining in Adelaide. Covers are just coming off for a look now.

It's the English way - if you can't win, sook.

Now Anderson has come out saying the Aussies are bullies. Yeah cos he’s never been a **** when winning.

They're just going the Queensland Origin approach and finding the inner hate anywhere they can.

Day night Test let's go.

Cool overcast and humid conditions- help bowlers!

All seven day night Shield games and Tests have delivered a result. All four Australian bowlers' averages in day night games are much lower than overall first class.

Two years ago it was a high score of 66 and first time since 93 the Adelaide Test hasn't produced a 100.

Lyon is 10 runs fewer per wicket!

Starc 26 to 17
Hazlewood 24 to 17
Cummins 27 to 11
Lyon 35 to 25

Batting is the opposite for some.

Warner 48 down to 44
Bancroft 39 down to 33
Khawaja 44 up to 76
Smith 57 down to 42
Marsh 40 up to 59

Root v Smith

Root is having all sorts of trouble with straight full bowling. Pre 2016 LB was just 10% of his dismissals. Of his last 30 he's been out 11 times leg before.

Broad and Anderson have got Smith 11 times in 64 digs. They're the two best at getting him in the world. Smith was so patient in Brisbane- driving his is most productive shot- Only 8% in Brisbane. As they got tired that climbed to 21%.

For his first 101 balls hit one run on the offside, 20 runs of his last 47 were on the offside. He just waited and waited.

Smith averages 86 in Australia.

Bold move.

Adelaide is not a ground you send the others in at. 76 Tests, only 8 have mustered the courage, for 1 win, 1 draw and 6 losses.

**** Khawaja plays some lazy shots - I'm tired of seeing his mopey face walking off after doing so. Australia will do well tonight to be close to 300 and only lose 4-5 wickets.

What dose everyone think a good first innings score is? 300-350?

It's going to have to be something around there, 300+ and hopefully have England batting as it gets dark.

Why on earth did England choose to bowl first? Makes no sense.

Falsely assumed Anderson and Broad would capitalize on conditions and put Australia on the backfoot right away. Might be the decision that costs them the series.
