You get the sense that 300 is a good score no matter circumstances in India and Australia hasn't looked like getting there this series, this is their best chance but India has really tightened it up here.

First innings run here will be gold. That pitch is staying slow and low and once it starts to turn, the runs here will be worth double.

They need to come out tomorrow and play with the same level of commitment as today though, they've put themselves in a strong position but this team loves a collapse.

But regardless, hats off to Khawaja, unbelievable he has never played tests in India before this series. He is one of very few current players to have a century there now. I think it is just Smith, Maxwell and him.

Don't look that far back then. There was a reason he was in and out of the side at one point. He couldn't make consistent scores in his earlier years. Add to the fact that he was seen as your first drop, Smith basically exploded the same time he was in and around the team and shore his spot up. He wasn't displacing Clarke at 4 and his batting at 5 and 6 isn't very good from an average point I'm pretty sure.
