Today was just embarrassing really wasn't it?

It was evident from the 3rd over, that our bowlers had no idea how to get a wicket and it seemed as though we just bowled because we had to. There was no rhyme or reason to anything they did today.

Exactly and as you eluded to early with Hauritz's lazy caught and bowled attempt there was a no sense of urgency at all and that comes down to two things; the captain and the selectors. Johnson looked tired today he bowled so bloody much in Perth and you can tell that physically and emotionally he is exhausted and the fact the other guys have nothing just makes it harder for him. Siddle bowled a couple of good faster spells yesterday, today he was back to the 135-140 nothing deliveries we expect, Watson bowls tighter and faster than both Lee and Siddle plus he is a batsman with a 40+ Pura Cup average FFS!!!!!!

Hayden to get a ton tomorrow put your house on it.... I would love to see it, he would gasm if he got one too you know how the big fella loves to celebrate.

Good to see some love for Watson he is a genuine all rounder and exactly what the Aussies need. As for Johnson he beat the bat several times and looked the most likely and even had Steyn dropped off his bowling but he looks shagged yet was still hitting high 140's regularly. Siddle was back to his Perth form today and Hauritz should have done better considering he was bowling to tail enders..

I absolutely love Watson he would be a regular in every other test playing nation well and truly by now because they would have given him time to settle in. Watson has had 50+ seasons with the bat for Tasmania and QLD and has a good bowling record and had just stamped himself as a worthy test quality seamer in India and they drop him for a drunken ODI specialist. DISGUSTING.

Yup, Watson over Symonds for sure.

Can't see them dropping Symonds though. He's too much of an iconic player, you see a million people dressed up in the crowd like him and he's in the TV ads of almost every major sponser.

So who comes in for Lee in Sydney? Probably Hilfenhaus seeing he was named in the squad for this game but given the selecters track record of chopping and changing and pulling names out of nowhere in recent times who knows..

Bollinger is a huge chance its his home ground next and he has a good record there, I would choose Hilfenhaus however.

It's all already been said, but I'll say it again.

Ponting = shithouse captain
Our attack = Shit since Warne and McGrath retired.

This summer begins the realisation that Australia is no longer the invincible team it was in the days of Waugh.

Amen brother

Is that the end of Hayden? The great Queenslander throws his wicket away again..

In fairness to Hayden, I don't think he started poorly at all. In fact, this innings he actually showed us a glimpse of what he can do. He is still horribly out of form, but he showed he may still have one in him. I have sorta backflipped (wouldn't be crushed if he was dropped), IMO we keep him for the rest of the series, then he is dropped. Why bring Hughes in under pressure?

**********************************************

You know, once upon a time, there was this great man. His only shortcoming was he was born in NSW, but he rectified this and moved to Queensland. This man reluctantly took over as Aussie skipper in a time of REAL (not like this "crisis" we are having now) trouble in Australian cricket.

His biggest critic's always complained that the man "played for the draw" in most matches. His supporter's claimed, with the talent he had, he was Australia's greatest captain ever. Definitely in the top 5 and definitely the greatest since the 70's. Maybe this great man needs a word to Ponting and this team.

If you can't win....you play for the draw, as this is a series. Wake the **** up Australian Cricket Team!!!!!

Hammo they need to win a test to get a draw out of the series...

Yeah but I think he meant play this game for a draw and hope we win in Sydney

yes no doubt I am sure that must be the plan but the batsmen still have to play there natural game to a certain extent.

The game is too far gone now, however Browny is correct; what I meant was we should have bored SA to death by batting out today and tomorrow and started fresh in Sydney.

That was a real captains shot to get out there from Ponting. FFS, on 99 of all scores he throws it away.

The Saffas need 182 to win... Johnson finished with 43 not out. $hit Steyn finishes with 10 wickets for the match IMO he is MOM unless the Aussie bowlers perform a miracle and destroy the Saffas with the ball.

I swear I heard one of the commentators accidentally refer to Dale Steyn the other day simply as 'Stale'. [icon_lol1.
Did anyone else hear that?
