OFFICIAL Ben Hunt returns home to Broncos on two-year deal

I’ve always blamed Oates more for 2015, never thought we’d win golden point anyhow V Thurston.

As for keeping Kotoni and Selwyn, I gotta believe if someone if offering Cobbo anything over 800k you let him go. He’s just not good enough consistently for that coin, mostly due to his motor and IQ, certainly has talent up the wazoo.

Emotionally scarred from him carrying us to a grand final? Sick of hearing this low iq opinion. Multiple things left to that loss not just a dropped ball, it’s a team sport remember. No hunt that year and no grand final.

It's not the dropped ball, if it were that simple it would be easy. He also played a hand leading up to the try that tied the game.

Ben Hunt isn't exactly a clutch player, he's not the man you're asking to step up and snap a 2 pointer from near enough to halfway if you're down by 2 and have 1 play left in the game (in fact, I think he's only kicked 1 field goal in his career, as a halfback, that's pretty damning).

I think he will be good for us, he won't need to be that guy, if he can chime in off the back of Reynolds that's all we need from him and given he's not going to be on marquee player money, that's perfectly acceptable.

I think Ben needs this as much as we do, it's been hanging over his head since 2015. He needs to come back here and win a comp, that for him would probably bring him closure.

Next time Dragons play us it's going to be on for young and old, his comments on the way out.. saying he watched every Bronco game in the 7 years he was gone, deadset. To think how absolutely garbage we were for the the bulk of those 7 years too.

I know Reece said something similar but it doesn't hit the same when you pay a bloke 1-1.2m a year for 7 years and he's your marquee man, then he says that? The media will have a field day.

Calm down mate. It's emotional scars from him dropping the ball of the kick-off. It's not an opinion, it's what I most remember from that game (probably because it's replayed so many times, and it happened right in front of me).

Didn't say it was all his fault we lost, or that he shouldn't get credit for getting us there. But in mine and others memory, Ben Hunt and the Broncos (unfairly or not) is synonymous with:

Edit: felt depressed just looking at that gif again 😞
Went backwards Sir..!

It might be us that finally has the ex player dominate their former team to show them what they're missing.

Not a clutch player? Don’t you remember him winning us that state of origin.

Well he did win that origin series with one of the greatest plays of all time.

If I were coach I'd consider any player who didn't watch EVERY NRL, the odd ESL game and maybe even the occasional Bledisloe Cup a passenger.

Ezra was pretty bad before the drama during the roosters game. The first pass he threw in 2024 kind of became his and our story for the year. Lackluster.

Been over this before ...
The backline move they would have practiced a thousand times went awry after Piakura had to come off and Patrick Carrigan moved to left edge . Patty was not where he should have been in that move . Ezra passed to where he expected him to be after 1000s of rehearsals . But ,,, Patty was a step too slow and metre wider than he should have been and Joseph Manu capatilised .
Maybe Patty should have tipped Ezra not to pass as he was not in position . Or Ezra should of had better awareness .
If the players were in their rightful positions and not having to substitute in unfamiliar positions I doubt it would have happened .

the modern version of Ben Hunt, think he makes a lot of mistakes,

+1
I think he tries to hard and chokes too often .Partly resulting from him carrying that St George team for years .
Fingers crossed the smart assistants give him simple tasks ,Reynolds directs the team and Hunt plays 2nd fiddle , feels less pressure and thrives .
