Bennett not to return - Signs with Knights

Irrelevant in a team like the Blues.

So in what rep. division did they perform in then?

Not to mention, there was a fair number of Dragons in the Blues side in 2010 and they were generally the worst players out on the field.

Every player had their day in that Blue jersey. Guys like Morris, Scott, Creagh, Weyman all had good and bad times, just like the rest of the NSW team. Stop analysing every tiny little bit of wording and get to the point - Which is, Bennett turned them into proper rep players. Not this City/Country bullshit or All Stars/Indigenous team crap or 18th man - NSW and Australian reps. He did it. That's the point.

And he'll do it with Newcastle too.[/quote:3w1d00bs]

i had a lol at this: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/ ... 6038741852

"Player welfare

Wayne Bennett cares about his players off the field as much as on it. He doesn't tolerate earrings, studs, flash hairdos and players wandering around with iPods."

does this guy not remember the Broncos in their last few years under Bennett? deadset every player had the faux-hawk with a mini rats tail, and a diamond earring the size of a small planet.

but yeah, he doesnt tolerate earrings, studs, or flash hairdos at all.

"Culture

There has not been one incident of player misbehaviour since he joined the Dragons at a time when just about every other club has been forced to deal with off-field atrocities."

and there were definitely no player misbehaviour incidents at the Broncos under Bennett. definitely none in a disabled toilet cubicle either.

Well if you think about it hard enough you can probably imagine it icon_thumbs_u

So I spoke to one bloke who generally knows what he's on about. This is the Bennett-Broncos story circulating in RL circles atm.

Bennett's preference was the Broncos. He came up here a while ago to sort out the details, however there were 2 major sticking points that neither party would budge on. The first was Bennett appointing his own staff in all areas to do with football - assistants all the way through to medical.

The second was the clubs insistence that Locky was given an assistants gig. Bennett wasn't necessarily against it, but he shared a view similar to many that he needed to ply his trade elsewhere first. He more so resented the fact he was having this pushed upon him.

My blokes personal view was that it was News having a bit of a giggle. Bennett built the club over 2 decades always on the basis of he making all key decisions and appointments that related to football performance. News knew that. Throwing a few obstacles in front of WB that they knew he'd never agree to ensured both their agendas were realised. 1. No Bennett. 2. Still looking good to their investors and supporters by at least 'opening discussions' with Wayne.

He also reckons Stuart is chasing the Panthers job, however this will be kept on the down low until after origin.
