I can't speak for 92 and 93, I was too young, but 97 onwards I have seen live and for me 2006 is still the best, Storm came in as red hot favourites dominating the league(cheating) and us having lost the first week of the finals against Dragons but finding form in the second game against Newcastle and especially later in the Dogs game with the famous Barrigan try off of a Hodges break which seemed to trigger our entire run.

Our squad back then if you look at it though was objectively insane, only a few players in our 17 where not rep players, and we used every ounce of our ability in that game against an illegal Storm team cheating the cap.

The fact it was against Storm I do think matters more too lol.

It's why I think Barrigan is our best Broncos Hooker in history, naturally a centre but his performance as a Hooker defending at Centre to keep him fresh was the best Hooker performance ever seen with a Broncos jersey, no one since before or after has ever done what Bennett did that year and and that's what made it such a unique and well earned win, he got Clive Churchill in that unique role too.

92, 97, 98 and 2000 seemed like foregone conclusions for me. As I've grown older of course, I've come to realise that wasn't really the case, but it doesn't change how I felt at the time that we had already won the Grand Final and so they weren't as enjoyable for me as 1993 and 2006 where we weren't the favourites and got the job done.

As far as GF go I would say 2006.

Finals wise I would say 1993 not the actual GF itself but being written off being able to win from 5th spot. We played 3 finals games in Sydney to qualify for the Grand final against the Dragons. Alan Cann got us into the Grand Final with an absolute barnstorming run to score under the posts.

Oh dear am I really that old now
I was 19, went to the casino at midday, lost the majority of my 90 dollars, got dropped at the leagues club for the game.,mayhem ensued… then out to the R E … definitely the best grand final

92, and 93 was good because as a kid I loved the broncos and hated the dragons.

97 was kind of expected.

98 was good because it showed that the broncos were the best team and newcastle wouldn't have won shit in a unified competition the year prior.

2000 didn't really stand out (I took it for granted given the success the broncos had).

But 2006 was probably the best. Going in as underdogs and beating a salary cap cheating storm and it being webby's last game. It also seemed like ages since the broncos won one (little did I know the drought post this game).

2006 was special......

but I still hold "92 as my favourite.

I was in my mid 20's....surrounded by friends, supporters from both sides.
Banter was hilarious.....beers were flowing fast.
Got the right result......it was a great day.

Life was good.....

Agree with 2006. And definitely agree about Berrigan. I actually think something inspired by that outside the box thinking would possibly still work in the modern game with HIA's and injuries messing with gameplans and benches everywhere.

St george cant play

Nothing beats their maiden title. It was such a dominant display from what I can remember of it. We celebrated at the Leagues Club. I ended up waking up on the sidewalk in front of a pizza shop on Musgrave Rd. I was missing a shoe.

Here's a fun fact. It was the first time the premiership trophy was claimed by a team outside NSW. That very same year, the AFL crown exited Victoria for the very first time as well (West Coast Eagles).
